A lot of people are not happy because they feel like they have lost some security.

With the PayPal spin off it happend to be very stressful with eBay because PayPal would automitically want to get you to eBay if you said the word "eBay". This made it very frustrating as a represenitive of eBay because PayPal would say that eBay would be able to get the tax forms for the customers but in all actuality eBay never touches the money for the transactions.

While most people were quite shocked by the decision given the iteration of "better together" from management just a few months ago, the spin-off really did not affect any day-to-day operations or team responsibilities except for teams at the parent company. Most teams at eBay and PayPal did not have any overlap at all for years; both companies also had separate campuses.
