The Communications Project Managerreports to the Director of Content and Design and will work closely with members of the Communications, Civic Engagement, Operations, and Fellowship teams.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Management of Communications and Production Calendars
This position is integral to the timely workings of the Communications team and its integration with the rest of the organization. Detail- and deadline-oriented, the Project Manager will be responsible for creating production timelines, facilitating interviews and writing assignments, managingeditorial and production schedules for staff and contractors, and obtaining internal and external approvals as needed.
Website Updates and Maintenance
Familiarity with HTML, Drupal, and Photoshop will be necessary for the successful candidate to draft and update blog posts and email campaigns, prepare photos and imagery, create web buttons and pdfs, and maintain our searchable database of Fellows.The Project Manager will also be responsible for copywriting, editing, blog post drafting, and composing internal email communication as needed.
Analytical Research and Reporting
The Project Manager is expected to maintain a current awareness of activity in the fields of social innovation and digital publishing. Additionally, this positionis responsible for weekly research on our programs’ progress, analysis of social media metrics, reporting on website and email marketing analytics, and managing the organization’s Google AdWords.
Special Project Management
From photo shoots to external studies to event coordination assistance, the Project Manager will lead an assortment of individual projects throughout the year, and be highly engaged with other departments across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of three years of demonstrated experience inmedia project management and digital publishing.
A skillful understanding of the technical aspects of web and digital communications functionality, and in-depth knowledge of HTML, content management,and email marketing systems; experience with CSS, Drupal, Convio, Blackbaud, and Salesforce a plus.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, and established graphic design sensibilities. Experience in photography and video production, Premiere, and Final Cut Pro a plus.
Hands-on strategic thinker, comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and committed to meeting deadlines and creating and improving processes; excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and to build and maintain online and offline relationships and networks.
Skills in, and dedication to, data-driven analysis, strategic thinking and decision-making.
