Dish Employee 2 days ago
Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at EchoStar (DISH Network)?
Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?
What is a typical day in the life of an employee at EchoStar (DISH Network)?

Hi I am a former Dish Network, I had some personal issues about three years ago which led to me leaving the company (I got fired). Does anyone know if Echostar has a policy regarding rehiring former employees, part of it was my fault and part of it I couldn't help it as I was going through some family tragedy. Please any help will be appreciated as I have been laid off since September of last year and still haven't been able to find a job up till today.
Thanks

I was an employee with Dish Network in Littleton Colorado. My writing is truly factual. Everything looks great from the start. However this company is in shambles. Nothing flows right in the building. There are a million problems. They have extremely high turn over because they lie to interviewing candidates. I was told that I would average between 40-60k for an annual income. I worked there for 5 months and was on track to make $25k per year. Do not believe anything they say, or write on a job description.
What if I were to say that they steal half of your income? Well it is the truth. People leave so frequently because no one in the right mind would work for a company that seriously takes half of your income. For example...If you work in the sales department. If you do not close 30% of the incoming calls you will be paid half of your commission. Btw you are more or less straight commission. The calls that come in you cannot control. If someone calls in and hangs up without saying a word that counts against you. If someone calls and asks for Spanish sales that counts against you. So because of you doing your job and taking calls your income is being effecting by there inability to weed out calls.
We were told that the full 30% close ration would not be in effect until 90 days. Sure enough at 60 days 90% of my teams income was cut in half. With the other half going right to the company. They will offer you gifts and prizes to make you "work harder" but these gifts are hardly that. They are things the company bought with the money they stole from your other employees and myself.
I highly suggest that you do not get involved with this company. They will do everything possible to not give you unemployment. They will let you sit and decay in the office until you quit. The job postings look great...make 50-70k per year but believe me when I say you will not make that. 3 of every 4 sales employees does not hit the 30% close ratio. I will answer any questions.

For installer position
First, you have pay to get your driving record for them and must bring it to the interview.
During the interview process they make up questions that are straight up a lie, just to see your reaction!.... I live in Chicago and one of the questions was..
You may be required to travel to Indianapolis for training and must put food and hotel expenses on your personal credit card, would you be willing do this? You will receive reimbursement. Hey dip, I was told by HR training is done locally, in Merrillville,In or Mokena,IL which are both a 35 minute drive for me. Plus dish network is a multi billion dollar company, why would they need me to front their expenses??
Dish Network does installs 365 days a year, even Christmas, are you willing to work on such holidays? HUH??? What kind of company would schedule installs on such important holidays? So I called my HR contact and he said this is not true!

Currently going through the hiring process with DN as a remote service tech. Just wondering if anyone has information on the background checks. Mainly the credit check. I filed a bankruptcy after a divorce and is on my report. Is this something that can keep me from getting the job?

my husband works for dishnetwork and has for almost 3 years, yes he complains about the bad days he has,but no matter where you work you have bad days, if you stay long enough at any company you receive respect from upper managment. my husband has been able to take vacations days, sick days and Paid time off days. his pay is good yes the benefits are not very good, but you also do not have to pay for them either if you do not want to. He has complained about his coach and even charlie ergin, however we still makes very good money. if you do your job correctly whatever write ups or complaints being made towards you, you have the write and are given the time to object your comments and prove you are doing your job right.

It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at EchoStar (DISH Network)?
Any advice on striking the right note?
