Productive workplace
Manager (Former Employee), Spartanburg, SC – June 5, 2013
Pros: good pay
A typical day in a production plant was very fast. We had to meet quotas and I always met mine. My department heads were so thrilled to have me apart of their team.

Telecommunications/Customer Service for DishNetwork
Technical Service Representative (Former Employee), Christiansburg, VA – May 7, 2013
Pros: good pay and benefits, guaranteed hours
Cons: stressful, mandatory overtime, work most holidays
Good pay, guaranteed hours, decent benefits and bonus perks.
The only thing wrong with this job is that people are extremely rude over the phone and it can be extremely stressful. Do not expect a customer to know what a power button on a remote control or a TV is, or even if they have the television plugged into an electrical outlet. And always remember – more... it is your personal fault that they're equipment is not working properly and they have the right to cuss you for it. – less

Busy and learning environment
Associate Engineer - Earth Stations Operations (Current Employee), Gilbert, AZ – April 28, 2013
Every day is busy, but not so much to become overwhelmed. With an open mind anyone can learn something of value every day. Compensation is fair along with the benefits offer. Discounts to Dish Network are a nice bonus.

Productive place to work
CUSTOMER SERVICE/SALES REPRESENTATIVE (Former Employee), NJ – April 22, 2013
Pros: great management
Cons: short breaks
• My day consisted of me Creating and modified all work orders on a daily basis.
• Handled up to 125 calls per day.
• Up sold all existing and new customers.
• Processed all types of payments (credit cards, money orders, and personal checks).
• Educated customers on how to read their billing ledgers.
• Account Specialist for very angry customers who – more... request to disconnect services by trying to solve whatever issue the customer maybe having at the time.
• Help develop a professional sales staff to drive sales, provide excellent service to our customers on every call, met company goals. – less

Damaging Corporate Culture
Program Manager II (Current Employee), Denver, CO – April 18, 2013
Pros: free tv
Cons: culture, the people, lack of consistent process, no accountability
The company is pretty standard in terms of HR/Benefits offerings.
However, the company has, at its core, a fundamental disregard for employee satisfaction.
The culture is one of aggression, defensiveness, and unprofessionalism.

a day at dish
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Bluefield, WV – April 16, 2013
Pros: learning communication skills
Cons: short breaks, management, stress
A day at echostar is very stressful and ovewhelming. I believe all of the workers are underpaid and deserve better than what they are being treated. The people there are great but the job is so stressful. The most enjoyable part of the job was the people who called in, because I love people and love to talk. The hardest part about the job was making – more... the manager happy in which it seems as if nobody could ever do that. – less

Cheyenne ESO treated as the unwanted child
Senior Engineering Technician (Former Employee), Cheyenne WY ESO – April 10, 2013
Pros: co-workers and immediate supervisors
Cons: support from management, unable to get new parts for outdated systems, pay was below industry standard for the same job
Had to make outdated, unsupported equipment work by taking parts from the back-up systems to maintain satellite support. Management both in the building and corp. kept giving the financial support to other stations and upgrades to every other department. Was promised an upgrade to systems that NEVER happened and to my knowledge still hasn't happened – more... even after 4 yrs. Co-workers were great. – less

Good job with lots of chances to move up
Field Service Technician (Former Employee), Loveland, CO – March 29, 2013
Pros: great hours
Cons: high change in management
Typically a normal day starts with recieving your assigned route for the day and preparing you vehicle with all the required equipment. Lots of great customer interaction including decision making about how and where the service will be installed, operation and familirization of equipment. Each day you meet new people and I personally had fun being – more... a part of the process with them. – less
