The majority of ECR's investment were in non-op wells. Many of those investments did not provide the desired data needed. ECR was very employee heavy having way to much staff for only 48 op wells. On the positive side, what projects we were able to do did provide excellent experience in optimizing D&C horizontal wells. The last project I was involved in was the completion design of the Purple Hayes 1H which is currently the longest completed lateral in North America at 18,500 ft perf to perf.
The last 5 - 6 months were rather difficult. It didn't take long to review 48 wells and 120 non-ops. Projects were very few with 2 completion engineers, completion manager, and completion superintendent all working on the same thing. Those months were also nerve racking as lay offs began to occur and there was a lot of uncertainty in job security which ultimately ended with my own lay off.
