About the Position . . .
The PerDiem Clinical position (10 - 15 hours /week) exists to support the mental and behavioral health of students receiving special education services in San Mateo County school districts. The position will promote prevention, early-intervention, and treatment strategies in classroom-based and school-based settings. The goals of counseling are to support students' abilities to access their curriculum in the least restrictive setting possible.
Serves as direct clinician and care manager to caseload of students holding Individualized Education Plans (IEP)
Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team on client care, including teachers, paraprofessional classroom aids, and school administrators
Assists in the completion of clinical assessments and treatment recommendations
Supports specialized classroom/milieu settings on school campuses, including providing crisis support counseling, as needed
Follow all Edgewood Center for Children and Families policies and procedures. .
MSW or Masters in Psychology or Counseling from accredited graduate school, required
Current LCSW or MFT license or demonstrated commitment and progress toward its attainment, preferred
Experience providing direct clinical and care management services within school settings
Ability to work collaboratively with members of an interdisciplinary team
Knowledge and experience within the special education field, preferred
Valid California Driver's License
Spanish language proficiency is required
Awareness of and sensitivity to multicultural issues.
