Executive Assistant (Former Employee) – Pasadena, CA – November 28, 2017
The company is part of an umbrella of a corporation owned by a family. They say you're there for the students but you're there to make the owner's filthy rich. When you do get your raise, they low ball you and add more responsibilities. It's a good job but not a career. Always have a plan B when working there. Good luck
Events & Communications Supervisor (Current Employee) – Pasadena, CA – January 30, 2018
EMS has been an amazing company to work for. I have been here for almost 6 years. The support offered to team members is incredible and the executives and those in leadership are extremely collaborative. They encourage a "family first" environment that makes it easy to find the balance between work and family. It is a genuine pleasure to come to work every day. The company offers competitive salaries and great benefits. The relationships I have established at this company will last a lifetime.
Project Coordinator (Former Employee) – Pasadena, CA – December 2, 2017
You don't work for education company, you work for everything to make the family rich - they created different types of sub-company to take money from the school/government. They do not want to give you a rise and try all method to lowball you. I can't be more than happy to leave this company
Payroll Coordinator (Former Employee) – Pasadena, CA – June 29, 2017
Favoritism and hierarchy No advancement for either companies (Was there almost 3 years. Low salary Lack of communication from HR/ Management No annual reviews (waited 2 years for mine and was minimal for superb performance).
Executive Assistant (Former Employee) – Pasadena, CA – June 27, 2017
It is unfortunate, EMS has some great qualities, however, they are much overshadowed by the lack of consistency and loyalty to their employees. EMS cannot be trusted as they hire and fire. It seems favoritism and hierarchy play a big role but the time spent there was great. They have good intentions yet dwindle their money away on unnecessary things. There is a constant presence of secrecy and eggshell-walking due to the high turnover rate.
Human Resources Generalist (Former Employee) – Pasadena, CA – February 17, 2016
Good place to learn and once you feel like you're not learning get the heck out. Don't stick around and hope/wish things will change. They don't. Management puts you in a box and gives you false hopes.
