This company, simply put, steals your soul from the moment you are handed an I.D. card with their logo and your photo on it.
I worked here for way too long simply because of 2 things: 1- the people- I LOVED my coworkers and 2- the services it provides it's customers (bringing au pairs to the USA for year, exchange students to live with host families, sending college and high school students abroad, and teaching foreign languages etc.)
Having been a foreign language major in college, I immediately thought this company was the one for me when I came across the job posting online. I was horribly mistaken.
They play favorites with their employees, do not pay well, force you to work long hours pretty much continuously without compensation, there is absolutely ZERO opportunity for growth and advancement within the company, and they do not prepare you for professional growth outside of the company. Their management team is a joke and people who are inexperienced and who have no people skills are put into management positions without proper trainina. Also, there is not as much opportunity for travel (contrary to what all their MBTA ads and billboards may claim.) I think the most exciting place I got to go was Minnesota. And for a company that claims to be so diverse, you should sit outside the building and see what types of people walk out of that building- let's put it this way- not at all diverse. There is a 'type' they choose, and if you don't fit that, you won't get chosen. I won't elaborate, you can use your imagination for that.
Long story short: I would steer clear of applying here. It DOES seem shiny and pretty with all their lavish parties, beautiful new building, and supposed travel opportunities. I can honestly say I learned nothing from this company aside from the fact that I do NOT want to work in a corporate environment and that I will never do it again.
If you do make the mistake of accepting a position here- at least you know you will get good vacation time, great benefits, and make a lot of friends. Well, that would be worth it all, wouldn't it?
