Einsteins Bagels needs to act like a company that knows what they are doing

The customers can be very rude and expect to be treated as if they were the only customer you have. The company needs to support the GM with respect and understand the the cafes Management team are the people that drive the companies overall success through hiring and training the team they lead. Managing the monthly P&L to exceed the sales budget and maintain a flow through to the bottom line. The company expects the GM to maintain the cafe and equipment as if the GM was handed a brand new cafe but in reality the place was a dump. I did not eat at any cafe that I did not take responsibility for to ensure this cafe was clean and the staff understood the concept of food safety. The Area Directors are required to manage to many locations and in multiple cities/states which makes it very difficult for the GM to get the support and information they need to operate the business. As a GM for this company you will always feel like you are constantly playing catch up. Although the pay rate for a GM is competitive the benefit package leaves you feeling as though your out on a limb.
