Grocery Clerk (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CASeptember 11, 2017
Going to work was never fun here, always the same daily routine with no change of pace. Have to depend on yourself and cant depend on anyone to get the job done. Lack of motivation no team spirit whatsoever. Dog eat dog environment with bad customers to add more salt to wound.
Pros
Learning how bad retail can be
Cons
everything else.

very important to have good communication skills. Store can get busy at certain times. You must have lots of patience, and you're able to learn new things from other departments within the store

Enjoyable place at work
Meat Clerk (Former Employee) –  Garden Grove, CAAugust 8, 2017
A fun and easy day at work.
I learned how to keep the meat department cleaned and to be very careful into getting the meat and always using gloves because you don't want any bacteria or germs getting into the meat. The hardest part of the job was carrying really heavy meat. The most enjoyable part of the job was giving the costumers what they want.

Unprofessional management, unclean store, unpleasant co-workers
Grocery Clerk (Former Employee) –  Ontario, CAAugust 4, 2017
Store manager was rude and unprofessional, and very forgetful, employees would occasionally not get paid because he would forget. The back was very disorganized with pallets of products just left anywhere and store shelves where a a complete mess. And while there where a few nice employees it wasn't enough to offset the jerks on staff on grocery that would hover behind me while trying to work.
Pros
Plenty of hours
Cons
Rude co-workers and faulty management

Produce Clerk (Former Employee) –  National City, CAJuly 31, 2017
Typical day at the job included carrying boxes of fruit and vegetables around 20-50lb boxes and set them up in a 6-wheeler and transport around the store while setting up the product. Maintaining the work environment clean and helping in the needs of customers. Some days I would be in charge of unloading the products from trucks. The hardest part of the job was dealing with customers and the physical demand but nothing that couldn't be handled. The most enjoyable part was the work environment

It is a stable job to have while you are going to school or have another job. They do work with that. Management can sometimes be annoying but other than that good work experience

The pay is nice but it gets really crowded and you never get off on your scheduled time. You only get 1 day off per week and you get paid weekly. The managers are really nice and understanding.
