This position is accountable for regulatory compliance of Federal and State agencies, while managing the provision of pharmaceutical care, staff, and work flow processes for the pharmacy department.

Reports to:

Vice President of Pharmacy

Roles and responsibilities:

The managerial oversight and outcomes of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Corporate responsibility for all regional pharmacy operations
  • Effective implementation of care and process changes
  • Responsible for strategic planning and business development for the pharmacy department
  • Clear and concise department communications
  • Consistent and updated human resource management
  • General operations workflow coordination
  • Orientation, training, staff development and management
  • Developing and implementing of Policies and Procedures, Standards of Practice (SOP) and Best Practices
  • Compliance with all applicable local, state, federal, and accrediting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures set forth by Woodmark Pharmacy
  • Budgetary workflows and outcomes
  • Financial responsibilities/financial analysis
  • Complete and successful third party audits
  • Negotiations with vendors and customers
  • Professional standards set forth by Woodmark Pharmacy


  • BS in Pharmacy required, Pharm D preferred
  • 5 years Long Term Care pharmacy experience preferred
  • 3 - 5 years Supervisory or Management experience required
  • Knowledge of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacist guidelines for practice, state and federal regulations, and drug indicators for long term care centers


  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to apply current leadership and continuous improvement principles
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and formulate solutions, working with complex variables
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents or information that may be complex
  • Ability to communication effectively, verbally and in writing, on sensitive and complex topics, to staff and organizational leaders
  • Ability to lead and facilitate groups to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ability to problem solve independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring
  • Conflict resolution skills, ability to deal with diverse educational, cultural, spiritual and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Ability to work weekends and after hours as needed


  • New York State License in Pharmacy
  • Certification in Geriatrics (preferred)

Physical Demands:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role.
