A wonderful learning and working environment.
ABA Therapist 1 (Current Employee), FLLAC Collaborative (Clinton Elementary School) –
Pros: healthcare benefits, teaching staff
A typical day at work is being able to adjust to the childrens behaviors and needs that they require. I have learned that working at such a challenging job, comes the ability to try to remain netural and to ask for a break to regain thoughts and experience learned to handle such challenging behaviors on a daily basis. The co-workers have always been – more...  very supportive and we learned to work well as a team. The hardest part of the job is when the children have a hard begining to their day with behaviors or academics and then trying to help the children make the day the best it can be. The most important part of this daily job is to be a team player, but also to remember that the reason I have choosen this field of work is that the children come first. To be abe to touch just one childs life and to be able to make a difference, in that childs life, is the most rewarding aspect to ever receive when teaching children with special needs. The most enjoyable part of the job is the growth of the children from the time they enter the program, until they move onto another program. – less

Very busy with funny staff and students
Office Manager (Former Employee), Stockbridge, MI –
Pros: being with the students and close to home
Cons: pay, state funding, layoff
I worked within the school district for many years in various capacities. As an office manager you are expected to be a secretary, school nurse, payroll and accounts payable, center of all information between staff and parents, substitute teacher and substitute principal. If you are unable to handle chaos along with the fun parts of the job it soon – more...  becomes difficult. I loved it all.

I really enjoyed the interactions with the students as well as the parents and implementing new ideas to streamline processes. Having to deal with constant state demands for testing and reporting was always a moving target.

I worked in two schools in the same day so I dealt with approximately 700 students and 75 staff - each with a different personality and life issue. – less
