Good Company to work for
Fisher Valves Service Technician (Current Employee), Poca, WVMarch 13, 2015
Travel is about 75% of the job. I get to work with other Fisher Techs from around the US and everyone is great. Will spend up to two months away from home at most. Most of the long term travel is to Nuclear Power plants to perform diagnostics/repairs on control valves during an outage.

I have learned and continue to learn more about how manufacturing processes work with the use of instrumentation and control valves.

Hardest part of job is working in hot and cramped spaces while being fully dressed out for contamination prevention at a Nuclear Power Plant.

Machinist (Current Employee), Brenham, TXFebruary 28, 2015
Overall it is a great place to work. It is however it can be a difficult work environment between shifts when having to worry about co-workers acting like high school kids telling on each other all the time.

Master Schedule Planner/Demand Planner (Current Employee), Chanhassen, MNFebruary 27, 2015
Pros: good work/life balance
Cons: seems to be tied to few industries which can lead to variable demands
I have learned so much since working here fresh out of college. This company gives its employees a good amount of responsibility and leadership opportunities from the start. They do expect a high level of work but the work/life balance is a focus area.

Business Administrator Specialist (Current Employee), Chanhassen, MNFebruary 8, 2015
Pros: nice people, good benefits, great atmosphere
Cons: work from home is often needed, in many cases.
This is a great place to work, it challenging but fun and will keep you busy with new things everyday. I've learned a lot about teamwork, selling and going the extra mile to delivery for the customer.

Equal balance of the professional and the personal life is what it matters. I would like to work with the organization which gives more importance to the efforts rather than the work discipline.

Project Manager/Business Analyst (Current Employee), Austin, TXJanuary 27, 2015
Good family oriented company. Competitive pay and relaxed culture for how old the company is. Work can get dull at times and projects can be slow coming in.

Management for the most part is top notch, though there are some bad apples anywhere you go.

Not a place for true marketing professionals
Annonymous (Current Employee), MinneapolisDecember 19, 2014
PROS:
If you have a degree in Engineering, you can move into any role (manager, director, VP) or any department (Marketing, Sales, Service, Product Management, Operations, etc.).

CONS:
If you are a true marketing professional (have a degree and experience in marketing or marketing communications) you can only hold an entry level marcom supportive role with responsibilities for execution and doing all the work. There are only a few marcom jobs with Rosemount. Marketing Managers must have an engineering degree as well as Marketing Engineers (Product Managers). This is even a rule communicated by HR.

To progress into a Director role, including Marketing Director, Training Director, etc. you have to have a degree in Engineering. Promotion is based on years of service with the company and not experience, expertise, or accomplishments. They prefer to promote an engineer with zero experience and let them figure out how to do the job rather than hiring someone with experience in that field. It is common for new DIrectors to buy books for guidance on their new roles.

Assembler/Material Handler (Former Employee), Irvine, CADecember 2, 2014
Pros: great area lots of food
Cons: too far
List of orders I get in the morning that I have to put together and have to determine which product I have to send out first. Solder, cut wires for assembly. Test final product with chemical solutions. Very friendly co-workers who trained me with patience. The hardest part is driving to Irvine, CA which takes about an hour.
