Take life 1 day at a time
Tractor Trailer Driver (Current Employee), Memphis, TNMarch 3, 2013
Pros: lunch only free during orientation
Cons: pick your insurance what best suits your needs
Hard but its fair, for what I've learned a company CSA score will hurt
them in the short run because shipper don't want to use them if they
have a high accident rate, speeding, and any violations that will delay
the load going to the consignee.

Dangerous work, demanding, and stressful
International Over-the-Road Commercial Driver (Former Employee), Memphis, TNJune 18, 2012
Pros: excellent maintained equipment, interesting assignments
Cons: some clients and customers had terrible delays
Typical routine includes loading/unloading on most days. I learned I had to allocate time to find parking after delivering and had to turn down some loads that I knew would result in non-compliance. They worked with me. Management was reasonable and demanding, and generally pretty fair-minded on reimbursements, etc. Co-workers were often stressed-out but skillful and competent. Hardest part was keeping balancing home life and work life and staying compliant. Other stressors included client demands and finding parking at the end of a work day. I ran compliant so I made less money than some others. That was my personal choice.
