About Empire Today
Whether you come from a Berber family or prefer plush padding, Empire Today will take care of your home and office flooring needs. The company sells and installs carpets and hard-surface flooring, as well as blinds and shades and acrylic shower and bathtub liners and replacements. Rather than selling its products from retail stores, the company makes – more... house (and office) calls -- taking samples to customers' homes, providing free estimates, and often offering next-day installation. Empire operates in more than 45 metropolitan areas in the US. Seymour Cohen founded Empire Plastic Covers in 1959 to sell plastic slip covers. It added home improvement services over the years and became Empire Today in 2007.
In early 2011 the company raised $150 million through the private placement market. The secured notes it sold mature in 2017. Empire Today has sought to grow, despite lingering tough economic times in the US. Following the private placement, the company opened a location serving the St. Louis metro area in mid-2011. – less
