Productive and quiet place
Office Services Clerk (Current Employee), Omaha, NE – June 1, 2013
At work we sit on a computer and review medical records for correct patient, DOB and/or SSN and continue to do so through out the day. The records go to the insurance companies after being reviewed. We learn to pay attention to detail thoroughly and if not done so correctly it is a HIPAA on the company and that employee who messed up. We learn to use – more... fax/copy machines and scanning medical records also. The job is very easy and self paced but done sufficiently. – less

Okay start to a technical career
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Hewitt, TX – May 17, 2013
Pros: easy to learn on the job, good pay
Cons: environment needs a little improving
I learned how to get to work within two days and it was easy to. The environment was okay to me. Every day was pretty much the same: Walk into work, sit down, do my job, go to lunch for 30mins in the lunch-room, go back to work. What I learned from this job was how to be prepared for days where I have to crunch, and days where I could relax. Management – more... was okay, the supervisor was really nice. The co-workers were friendly even though we were not allowed to talk a lot during work since everyone has a lot to do. The hardest part of the job was to meet the deadline during crunch time and reading some people's handwriting. The most enjoyable part of the job was talking to the co-workers during small breaks. – less

Decent starting job
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Waco, TX – May 4, 2013
Pros: friendly, fast paced, busy
Cons: repetitive, short lunch, not a lot of advancement oportunities
This is a good place to get experience, but not a career. The associates were friendly, but raises were few and far between and very small. Benefits were not great either.

Small business with a close-knit group of employees
Assistant Office Manager (Former Employee), Richmond, VA – April 30, 2013
Cons: no healthcare, no incentives, no annual evaluations/raises
A typical day involved greeting clients and answering a multi-line phone. I also perfomed drug screen collections and alcohol breath collections as well. I learned a great deal while working at EMSI. I learned how to resolve issues over the phone or in person. I also learned how to communicate with various levels administration within the organization. – more... I learned how to schedule appointments for clients, and also how to manage up to 8 employees, create and maintain spreadsheets as well as utilizing other Microsoft applications such as Word and PowerPoint. Management was great for the most part, they were also the owners of the business. If an employee had children and they had a doctor's appointment, etc. they understood and would not mind you taking off for a few hours to handle personal business. – less

Very productive and exciting work place.
Office Services Clerk/ Medical Record Retriever (Former Employee), Waco, TX – April 23, 2013
Pros: competitive pay, excellent management, understanding people
Cons: low end benefits, no advancements, repetitive
EMSI was a fast paced job that challenged me in the beginning. I would get to work and immediately get ready to start my day. I would log into my computer and search folders for Medical records that needed immediate attention, then put that record into chronological order according to the demands of that company. I enjoyed working at EMSI, because the – more... management was awesome and the people were worth going to see every day. EMSI taught me a lot although, the job got very repetitive and demanding to needs that were not job related at times. My overall review of EMSI is Incredible. I worked there for five years and resigned in 2011. To this day I still think about the job the people and how much I truly enjoyed being at work when I was there. I realized a job is what you make of it and I chose to make the best out of my experience at EMSI. I have no regrets and still hold amazing friendships with my fellow co-workers. – less

Pros: flexible work schedule
Cons: more along the line of collection calls, health care provided for purchase was not good
Co-workers willing to assist when needed. Made phone calls from start to finish of the day. Pay was dependant upon how many medical records were received within each two week period.

Productive workplace
Application Specialist (Insurace Services) (Former Employee), Waco, TX – March 21, 2013
Pros: hours, able to work independently
Cons: shorts breaks, reading the same script over and over again
I was on the phone basically from the phone from the time I clocked in to the time I clocked out. The work was sometimes frustrating, but I learned how to deal with customers on another level than what I was used to. Hardest part was I never knew how long I would be on the phone with one customer, the best part of the job was the hours, Monday-Friday – more... and only 1 Saturday a month – less

Cons: 0
EMSI is the best job I have had in a long time. The people you work with even the management are grate people. They are always willing to work with you no matter what, and the job is easy. I am sad that I have to move, other wise I would still be there.

Average
Caseworker (Current Employee), Waco, TX – February 19, 2013
Working for EMSI is great if you only plan to be there temporarily. Most of the positions available are all part-time,which means no benefits. The pay for most of the workers have gone to a "commission plan", which doesn't allow for any advancement such as raises. One great thing is EMSI will, most of the time, work around your schedule if you have – more... school, second job, etc. – less

Customer Service Representative - caseworker (Former Employee), Pomona, CA – February 8, 2013
typical day would be checking and responding to emails and voicemails. taking new orders for medical records requests through various facilities. dispatching work orders to field agents to copy in a timely matter. all my co-workers were a joy to work with. The hardest part of job was not being able to obtain the medical records chart on its due date. – more... the most enjoyable part of my duties was working with different areas of the business, and talking to different people in various states. – less

It was a great job. I enjoyed my management, and the people I worked with. It was good to have a set limit of calls to make during the day, as it kept me going, and there was never a point in the day where I did not have things to accomplish.
