Lead and Middleware engineer (Former Employee) – Costa Mesa, CA – May 19, 2017
*Good Culture, though a little Laidback environment *Mostly Technical work *Was able to implement a few newer things especially in the area of Oracle Middleware *Newer stuff learnt in the areas of Middleware especially in Identity Management
- Not much Challenges - Not much career advancement - Lot of politics for such a small IT - IT Leadership was not efficient or good
Anyways, the company was acquired by another company.
Emulex was a fantastic company and a great place to work.
Test Technician (Former Employee) – Costa Mesa, CA 92626 – May 23, 2016
My initial experience at Emulex started in 1983 working in Quality Inspection, in-process and final, most of the assembly was done in-house and I was very involved in the Inspection processes, worked with a multifunctional team of Inspectors in a team environment and it was a fulfilling and challenging place to work.
Looking back, the hardest part of the job, was having to keep manual data on paper and the way things were then, compared to today.
Years later, it was the reason I came back to Emulex in 2011, to an opportunity to work as a Test Tech, and I would still be there, but the Company was sold to Avago Technologies and our jobs moved overseas, but I loved the culture at the company.
Great 401k plan with company matching at 3% - Great atmosphere.
The latter Emulex, seemed to have too many Presidents, vice presidents and Directors in general.
Marketing Communications Manager (Former Employee) – Costa Mesa, CA – March 11, 2016
In my 15 years at Emulex, I was afforded an opportunity to work with some of the nicest, most intelligent people I have ever come across. Even through the many regime changes, I always got along great with everyone and my role as an event manager was really fun. I got to travel to a lot of cool places and had a very fulfilling work experience.
Fun travel, great people, concerts, sporting events
Engineer (Current Employee) – Costa Mesa, CA – July 14, 2015
Too much politics at higher levels. Co-workers are nice. Environment is not good at this time with fear of layoffs. Projects cancelled all the time as management cannot figure out what projects to bring to the market.
Senior Firmware Engineer (Current Employee) – San Jose , California – May 12, 2015
A typical day at work - Funfilled work culture What I learned - startup culture Management - good management, little politics Co-workers - very supportive hardest part of the job - to follow the management politics enjoyable part - debugging along with different teams
Marketing Communications Manager (Current Employee) – Costa Mesa, CA – March 30, 2015
Every work place has its challenges and imperfections. However, I can honestly say that, I personally feel incredibly blessed to work for this company. I love the people I work for and with, and I enjoy what I do. I have been treated far beyond "well" and have learned much from my superiors and co-workers. I am truly part of an amazing team that has encouraged, sharpened, and strengthened each other.
