The facilities I have worked at have been very good with their pt. first mentality and are creative with their treatements.
PRN Physical Therapist Assistant (Current Employee) –  Columbus, OHSeptember 17, 2017
As a PRN PTA I may have a 2hr to a full 8hr work day depending on the need of the facility. I have learned their documentation system rehab optima. The management is helpful and hands on with assisting with patients, as well as answering any questions that may arise. Each facility I have worked in the therapy dept. works well as a team. The most enjoyable aspect of the job is the residents and the progress they make becoming more independent.

company is not willing to pay for what they have
Physical Therapist Assistant (Current Employee) –  West Orange, NJSeptember 8, 2017
After two years my salary has not increased and very little is said about the possibility of any future advancement. This is not just for me, it is for the whole department, the company in general. It seems as though the opportunities to increase salary will only will happen by moving to another company.
Pros
paid time off
Cons
no advancement

Poor work environment
COTAL (Former Employee) –  Howell, MIAugust 6, 2017
The encore in Howell doesn't have enough nursing staff to get patients out of bed. 3 months periods of low census, a lot of patients are inappropriate for therapy or don't want therapy. High productivity rate , if you don't mind being a glorified CNA then this is the place for you often times patients that are low level will be in bed soiled and you will have to change them before being able to perform any therapeutic intervention.
Pros
Flexible schedule
Cons
Low census for long periods

Small facility, personal work place.
Physical Therapist Assistant (Current Employee) –  Front Royal, VAJune 1, 2017
Small facility enables personal but professional relationships between staff. Flexible hours and willing to work with your schedule. Easy working between disciplines and scheduling your patients around different therapies. Productivity rate comparable to SNF environment and attainable most days.

PTA PRN (Former Employee) –  Soddy-Daisy, TNMay 4, 2017
Great therapist to work with however compensation is far behind the national average. Recruiter will not negotiate and will offer you a salary that is way below national average. Don't waste your time. High stress, low pay and poor ethics. You have been warned!
Pros
Great therapist to work along with.
Cons
Unskilled Mgmt, unrealistic expectations, low ball hourly rate.

This company expects excellence from you and provides some support but not much. You need to be able to rely on your own judgement and clinical skills.

LPTA (Current Employee) –  Farmington Hills, MIMarch 28, 2017
No job is hard, it is just a challenge. Typical day, I am able to help people become stronger, working with a flexible schedule is a plus. At times, the company hosts all employees gathering at locations such as Cedar Point, for family recreational time amongst all employees.
The most enjoyable part of the job, is making a difference in people's lives, to help them become stronger and return home.
Pros
Upbeat co-workers, clean facilities with state of the art equipment
Cons
No raises are given at this company

Horrible experience! Regret staying for as long as I did!
Therapist (Former Employee) –  FloridaMarch 25, 2017
Worst rehab company I've ever encountered. Experienced nothing but frustration since the beginning. Extremely negative and stressful work environment. Company culture is 100% focused on profit, numbers, and productivity. I never felt valued or appreciated as an employee. I worked in a facility acquired by Encore Rehabilitation in June 2016 and the transition was highly disorganized resulting in untimely delivery of paychecks to newly acquired employees. Less than 2 months after transition, our pay was CUT and the price of benefits increased. After being told they would re-negotiate benefit options in the new year for lower rates due to company expansion and the company releasing a newsletter boasting their increase in profits due to obtaining more contracts, we received a notice that the price for our benefits had increased again for 2017. Negative feedback was the only feedback provided which quickly destroyed the team's morale in my workplace. Upper management is dishonest and lacks follow-through while communication exchanges have been rude and unprofessional. Very little technical support was available while undergoing transition to their computer software and following transition, I experienced many technical issues on a daily basis impacting overall work efficiency.
Pros
Flexible hours and PTO is front loaded
Cons
No holiday pay, strict PTO policy, expensive benefits/poor options, pay cuts with no annual raises, no potential for merit raises, high productivity expectations, overtime is avoided at all costs
