I worked for the company for 8 years and watch it grow. I have been there as one of the original operator at the Salt Wells geothermal plant, promoted to Operations supervisor.

Customer service internally non existent. There is severe favoritism. Italian culture means men are favored over women. Do not plan on getting old here, they do not appreciate older experienced employees.
Pros
Family oriented
Cons
Poor pay and less respect for some demographics

Great managers, colleagues, and benefits. It is a fun place to work and the benefits are excellent. They offer summer hours, casual dress code, and healthcare benefits are excellent.

Administrative Assistant/Receptionist (Former Employee) –  UTC San DiegoMay 19, 2016
The day goes by quickly, enough administrative work to keep you busy.
Management is very loyal to their employees, co-workers are very supportive of each other.
Helping with the monthly events that the company puts together for the employees was always educational and fun.
Pros
Free Parking
Cons
No elevator from the parking garage to the inside building.

Being a renewable energy company I was introduced to the business development of Wind Farms and Solar Farms, also the work that goes into all the ecological requirements in California or any other state to build these farms.

Marketing and bids were new to me nine years ago, I really enjoyed learning all the aspects of this business.
Pros
Team Support
Cons
Time zones can make conference calls difficult.

Civil Engineer

Work is usually cubicle dwelling unless out in the field. Field consists of work on hydropower sites.

I learned about hydropower and PM skills. But, you are going to have to teach yourself. Engineering is contracted out.

Management is a mess, hopefully they fix this.

Some really nice co-workers, but lazy ones who do not accomplish much too.

Hardest part of job is trying to motivate people to get work done. You will go to the same meeting and talk about the same work - nothing ever gets accomplished sometimes.

I enjoyed the work life balance - rarely do you work over 45 hours per week.

Low pay at first, but higher ups make good money. Good beni's.
Pros
free fruit
Cons
lots of dead weight
