Stemco is terrible!!!! Run
Accounts Receivable Clerk (Former Employee) –  Longview, TXMarch 19, 2016
The accounting dept is terrible. No training, the supervisor is clueless and acts like a kid and is a lier. HR is aweful also. They provide no help on situations in the workplace. The priorities at this place are not in the right place. The books are very screwed up and they try to hide it. They take no initiative to fix anything no matter what it is. The views are screwed up. Management sucks. Not sure where they find some of the people there or how they got jobs. It's like prison. You can't talk. You can't do anything but WORK!!!!!!!

Management is Clueless
Hard worker (Current Employee) –  DeLand, FLFebruary 13, 2016
So I work at the Deland plant and here is how it goes ----there is no accountability at all --we have tools go in for calabration and they come back bad--and this takes the cake--management goes in for leadership training which they need it and they all come back wearing camo shirts like we are in bootcamp or something.
give me a break and let us do our job and listen to what the workers say because on paper it might work but in practical it does not --they see it time and time again--cant wait to retire--not long to go now
Pros
free lunch
Cons
no accountability in management but you know what rolls downhill

Very unorganized
production scheduler (Former Employee) –  Beloit, WIJanuary 18, 2016
If you are an organized person, this company is not the place for you. As a production scheduler the job is actually more of an expediter. Dates and quantities mean nothing. They do not work from workbenches. It is impossible to track jobs as job numbers seem to be chosen at random. The jobs that are supposed to be tracked from the dispatch report aren't necessarily the job number the work is being done on. It is a schedulers nightmare. I couldn't wait for my contract to expire.
Pros
New management is trying to organize production. Good wages. Helpful coworkers
Cons
Union shop that doesn't hold production workers accountable.

Safety and Manufacturing Leader (Current Employee) –  Denver, COJuly 19, 2015
Work 8-12 hours per day, asked to develop colleagues without development opportunities for myself. Concept is great, but compensation for requirements is not commensurate.
Pros
They try to make the culture good.
Cons
The benefits are substandard and do not keep up with increasing job requirements.

Not a good place to work
Employee (Former Employee) –  ParagouldSeptember 21, 2012
Garlock Rubber is a subsidiary of EnPro. This is a terrible place to work. Upper management incompetent. I saw them go through 7 managers and supervisors in less than a year. When you see people with 25 years service just quiting a red flag should go up. Insurance or lack of is terrible. Dirty, hot, unsafe will change your schedule around on a moments notice. Very unprofessional. Think twice before applying. The mother company Enpro seems to be OK but Garlock Rubber Paragould is not. They have 3 jobs listed on here and all 3 of these were listed less than a year ago.

Executive Assistant/Communications Specialist (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCAugust 19, 2012
People are treated with respect and are given the freedom to do their jobs with no micromanaging. Management values employees and wants them to be successful in their career and personal life.
