There are too many to narrow to just one! So here goes....
Unfair treatmeant of employee's at Timberwood. If you're not in the DON's clique, you won't make it. The DON in short is a bully. Example: a nurse was not comfortable preforming a procedure, and she expressed that to the (at the time) "acting don". DON became irritated with her and told her in a snarky tone "if you can't do it, we'll have to pay to send patient to the ER". The tone used implied she was going to be angry if patient had to be sent to ER. ( and DON herself couldn't do it, because she didn't have her RN at the time because she failed her boards...twice) so this nurse did attempt procedure, and patient DIED! And the "acting don" at the time threw other nurse under the bus, saying "I told her not to" and when the TBON questioned her, she said "how can an LVN give an RN orders? Which she did, she didn't have the DON title at the time, but admn let her be "acting DON".....
If you care about your liciense, don't risk it by working for this place.

Making a judgment call that is in the best interest of your patient but because census is low, you do not send them to the hospital, you fax the doctor and see if he will respond at 5pm on a Friday.

The management is AWFUL. Human resources is a nightmare. As an employee you are expected to know your job and to be professional but don't expect the same from management. Favoritism is a joke if they like you then job security and raises but if you are not a favorite you can forget about a raise or time off. And the Don's children get hired and don't have to work are paid more than a valuable employee. When I would go to work I felt like I was going back to high school. So if you want a job where you can act like a child lack common sense. This job is for you

It will always be short staffed, continues with too many turn overs. Too many meetings for Nothing. It's a circus, no one listens to management. They have corporate cluster that run the building by phone. Clinical resources are cover up liars

If you are a ethically driven health care professional then you will feel as if you have a huge target on your back. Unethical? Multiply your actual patient treatment minutes x 2? You're the best employee ever!

Great company to work for, DON and administrator are very helpful. The administrator is an RN and she helps cna's with their duties. Very impressive. I really enjoy working for Ensign.
