Growing Leadership Development Company, recently relocated to Houston, is seeking a Marketing Manager to help drive growth.
The role will report to the CEO of Envision Global Leadership (EGL). The company CEO splits time between downtown Houston, the Woodlands, and travel. The Marketing Manager will meet (preferably in one of these two locations) weekly, and will operate remotely the rest of the time. Will also have frequent telephone, email, and web conferences with CEO. Will also have regular team meetings with the larger EGL team to stay aligned on overall goals, and coordinate work efforts. Position Summary:
The Content Developer and Manager will help develop and maintain the content for our various web sites, primarily a Drupal based CMS. He/she will be an integral member of the team, and will work closely with outside content and training developers, as well as will other members of our team.
Primary Job Responsibilities
You will be part of a small team

  • Writing interesting blogs and digital content for clients in the leadership development and coaching area.
  • Maintaining and uploading PDFs for member content.
  • Maintaining all site permissions.
  • Keeping Copyrights filed and up to date.
  • Creating and maintaining web pages in both Drupal and WordPress sites.
  • Writing press releases
  • Creating and running webinars (content support from our consultants and others).
  • Beyond writing content, giving creative inputs to our team of Creative Designers, Social Media and Digital Managers
  • Brainstorming creative ideas for our clients
  • Working with outside developers to build and maintain the site.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Deep knowledge and interest of web content, SEO practices, and a curiosity about latest industry trends, technology and changes.
  • A successful track record of planning, testing, launching, monitoring, optimizing and measuring social media campaigns.
  • Experience with web analytics.
  • Working knowledge of Apple Mac OSX, MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be comfortable discussing and presenting technical issues to senior management team and non-technical staff.
  • Good business acumen and judgment combined with a strong work ethic, professionalism and integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork capabilities, ability to develop strong trust-based relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Ability to analyze and pro-actively solve problems.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.

Desirable Background

Role would be as an employee, based in Houston.

  • This role will begin at essentially full time. 40 hours a week to start.
  • Hourly pay, $15 - $20 per hour.
  • Much of work will be virtual, with regular meetings (once a week, more or less) at our office downtown Houston or town center in The Woodlands.
  • Other benefits may be negotiable.

Technical Skills

  • Work with WebEx, MS Office Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel in particular.
  • Mandatory, knowledge of web site functioning using CM systems WordPress and Drupal, and HTML. Looking for someone to update content, not code the sites.
  • Social media platforms, in particular HootSuite, Technorati, WordPress and Drupal blogs.

Hiring process –

  • Job posting period is from February 13, 2014 through March 9, 2014.
