Summary – The Chief Information Officer will direct the strategic planning and implementation of information technology systems in support of the Firm’s mission, goals, and operations. The CIO will work to improve service quality and efficiency, business development, and cost effectiveness, including the direction of all IT initiatives. Reports to COO.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a best in class information technology function, including systems, processes, infrastructure, services, applications, telecommunications, devices, networks, and security for the Firm’s nine (9) offices
  • Regularly collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer, C-level executives, the Technology Committee, practice support leaders and others to strategize on IT solutions, identify business priorities and prioritize initiatives
  • Manage the National IT staff and its managers ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, privacy and security of the Firm’s data and the safety of the Firm’s assets
  • Ensure the technical accuracy, cost effectiveness, and adequacy of the Firm’s systems, software, and applications
  • Provide attorneys and staff with technology solutions that promote mobility and productivity
  • Develop and adhere to an annual IT budget
  • Implement and promote communication strategies and capabilities to achieve service improvements and minimize travel expenditures
  • Develop and implement operating procedures, policies and practices within the IT Department
  • Head the Firm’s business continuity planning initiatives, which include data protection/replication, managed hosting, cloud backup, and crisis team training
  • Actively serve on committees (e.g., Technology Committee) and task forces (e.g., Disaster Preparedness Team)
  • Regularly engage in continuing education activities in the IT field
  • Travel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or other related concentration a must
  • MBA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of related IT management experience
  • Experience at mid- or large-size law or professional services firm preferred
  • Demonstrated success in implementing innovative IT solutions
  • Knowledge and skill in a broad range of technology and communications platform systems, tools and applications
  • Possess senior level experience including progressive managerial experience
  • Ability to lead teams and geographically-dispersed employees
  • Strong “client-service” philosophy to providing information technology services
  • Experience in budgeting / capital planning
  • Proven leadership in project management functions
