Trainers were nice, co-worker was not.
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Cincinnati, OHAugust 27, 2014
Pros: hour lunch, wear jeans on fridays
Cons: no breaks until lunch, co-worker unbearable and unfriendly
I worked in an office with one other girl. She has been there 20 years. Not friendly by any means, the first thing i think of is Bully. There was no conversation no music, the only sounds was co-worker pounding away on her keyboard. If there wasn't any work, i sat an waited for something to come across. Made for a very long day. Supervisor was and her – more... were close. Me being new had no leverage. I was asked by HR if i confronted co-worker, i did not and why would I, i could only see it getting worse for me. – less

Productive and Passion to perform
Service Coordinator (Current Employee), Louisville, KYApril 11, 2014
The first thing every morning is to check all messages in the voicemail, emails, then prioritizing my daily schedule for the day. I make my "to-do list" arranging from mandatory down to minor responsibility. The management is great always looking out for employees best interests to make our pleasant and reasonable. My co-workers are team players, always – more... willing to go the extra mile to help out one another. All jobs are challenging, however I'm always willing to learn more about other areas within the company, which I have not accomplished or no understanding, which I see a minor problem but will but a success once learned. Every day is enjoyable, because I have the ability to socialize with different customers and directing them to the appropriate departments. – less

Benefits average. Health Insurance very expensive. Felt lack of growth potential with company.
Parts Clerk (Former Employee), IllinoisNovember 19, 2013
Pros: some very good people to work with and as a team.
Cons: management doesn't treat people with respect.
Worked with many good people. Some of the new crew were not to be trusted. Seemed like a lot of people didn't want to work as a team.

No real room for growth or moving up to a better position in the company. Small wage increases and higher insurance rates.

It's a good place to get experience, but not to have a career.

Territory Sales Manager for this company
Territory Manager (Former Employee), Dallas, TXOctober 23, 2013
This company was owned by another company that was based in the Netherlands. They did not stock an adequate amount of new or used equipment for a salesman to establish relationships with clients and deliver equipment. They had a very tight budget, which caused a tremendous amount of lost business.

Field Service Technician (Former Employee), Fort Worth, TXOctober 7, 2013
I am a self starter. I generally show up to work, well before my dedicated shift starts. Safety oriented and always follow guidelines to get the job done efficiently and safely. I have learned that a lot of employee's do not follow safety guidelines. The hardest part of a job is pleasing the all customers. The most enjoyable part of a job is knowing, – more... I did my best to make the customer happy. I also found that manager's hired employees that stated they could do the job, most of the time I was sent out after these employees to repair, properly diagnose and repair their mistakes, which I did enjoy. – less

A nationwide equipment service, sales, and rental company.
Service Writer / Quote Specialist (Former Employee), Erlanger, KYSeptember 4, 2013
Pros: friendly co-workers and well meaning local management. very talented staff.
Cons: over-reaching national office prevents growth and local control of branches.
EQDepot is a great company on the local level, but is unfortunately hindered by national management. Many required functions of local management and decision making must be routed through national channels. This often results in slow, impersonal, and and sometimes inappropriate responses from the main office, thus hindering the ability of the local – more... company to function efficiently in day to day operations. – less

A/R-Credit & Collections Specialist (Former Employee), Irving, TXJuly 11, 2013
Pros: yearly banquets, motivational awards such as 5 star employee of the month
Cons: not enough cross training
My typical day consisted of auditing accounts, collection from the ATB getting a jump on the 31 and older. Posting payments, Processing credit card payments, balancing bank transactions. Preparing various reports for the sales team as well as for the Divisional Manager. Researching problem accounts, sometimes going to the archive files to send old invoices. – more... inbound calls from customers, helping in what ever way needed. Participate in projection meetings. I learned from my management that you don't have to micro manage to run a smooth and accurate department. Once employees know what is exspected of them and the follow office procedures it was a relaxed work place. The hardest part of my job was the archive research. The most enjoyable part of my job was the relationships I maintained with the customers. Also setting personal goals for myself and reaching them. Also winning the 5 Star employee of the month. – less

Very Shady Company
Parts Person II (Former Employee), Saint Albans, WVMay 14, 2013
Pros: good pay
Cons: back stabbng, employees complaining
A typical day there was not knowing if you could do your actual job or if they would have you painting or sweeping and you always had to watch out for a coworker pretending to help you because he was responsible for the same job duties and saying he would do it while I was sent on some wild goose chase out of state. Then in the end when the work was – more... not completed due to him being shady, I took the heat for it and lost my job! Very poor management!! Managers ordering employees to remove parts from customers equipment to fix rental units then chewing out certain memebers of the parts dept when the customer wanted their equipment back and it was torn apart from where parts had been stolen from it. Very unethical co-worker in the parts dept. that ran it passing the buck when things went wrong on people with less seniority

I was supposed to receive training for looking up parts but never got it the first time in other than 2 seconds here and there, senior parts people messed up the inventory then placed the blame on the new guy which was me.

If only the CEO actually knew the trickery and underhanded management they had in place there they would have a fit and fire them and their "go to guys" for being unethical – less

National Accounts Leader (Former Employee), Lancaster, PAFebruary 18, 2013
Pros: flexible, vacation time
Cons: not enought support from management
I worked for Equipment Depot as a national accounts leader. I would oversee as well as handle all the processing of orders, invoices, credits, and shipping for our account with Coca-Cola. I also handled the accounts payables side of this account. I did the marketing for this account by creating my own marketing materials and cold calling potential new – more... locations to grow this account. – less

Productive workplace but with little compensation.
Parts Specialist (Current Employee), Allentown, PAJuly 31, 2012
Pros: flexible hours
Cons: not as much compensation as i had been looking for
I do enjoy working at Equipment Depot mostly because of their 'People Make the Difference' slogan. It really does hold true here, as all of the mechanics, technicians and the majority of office workers are a pleasure to deal with.

A typical day at work consists of plenty of customer calls, along with technician calls that have me researching anything – more... from brake shoes to engines using online/paper manuals, company to company calls and personal experience - anything that will enable me to more quickly and correctly provide information to a customer or technician. I am then also personally responsible for picking said part or placing it on order if we lack it in our physical inventory. Here I may find myself doing the shipping and receiving of the orders from the previous day, along with their proper placement to ensure the mechanics/customers do receive the parts once they arrive.

Every person in the Parts Department is very well cross-trained to perform each others' job if need be, seeing that I work in a rather small group. So anything from work orders, to sales orders, to receiving in UPS shipments, we all have our hands in - which to me is the most rewarding part of the job, feeling proficient in many different areas and being able to provide help to customers and techs from a range of angles.

There is not a particularly difficult part to this job, other than attempting to find information about a much older lift truck, or any model that we rarely deal with, in which case the schematics we're looking for sometimes are down hidden paths. It is, however, quite enjoyable when you've spent hours searching for the correct part, located it and handed it over to you mechanic and it works like a charm.

All of the forklift information was extremely new to me as well, and thankfully I see myself as a lean thinker and a quick learner, and I was able to become proficient in both the computer system and the parts identification portions of this job rather quickly. – less

This is a friendly work place with good people....
Rental Assistant (Current Employee), Houston, TXJuly 18, 2012
Pros: after first year you get two weeks vacation, one week sick and two floating days
Cons: expensive health insurance, all employees paid hourly, pay is not good
Although this company is a good stable company, they do not pay or give any incentives to their employees such as bonuses or raises. In the two years that I've been here I've seen many people leave due to pay and lack of management doing for their employees.
It's a good company to work for to get into the business but nothing that you can build a career – more... on. – less
