Medical Assistant./Office Manager, Department of Medicine - December 1, 2015
Enjoy working with doctors and patients every day and doing patient teaching. I do all travel arrangements and reimbursement acquisition for a very busy physician who is the Chief of Medicine and a hypertension specialist who travels the globe lecturing. I manage the office and am also responsible for hiring new research fellows locally and globally. This is a very interesting part of my job as it allows me to meet new people from around the world and help them to achieve medical residencies in the United States. I am also involved in clinical research studies in hypertension, heart failure & diabetes. I have had the opportunity to do a bit of traveling when new studies are initiated (for training) and this has been a great learning experience. My salary is paid by research funds and this funding has been decreasing over the last few years and will likely continue to move in this direction.
