Re-organizations have ended up with people being promoted to positions of authority with no relevant understanding or experience for who or what they are managing.
Direction is unclear and priorities keep changing to meet metrics.
However, as an AE if you are OK with lots of travel, and function well on your own, the role is actually quite nice. If you have aspirations of advancing, not so much.
I loved the interaction with customers, my fellow employees, and always being able to learn. The willingness of co-workers to always come to your aide or help with a tricky situation is unparalleled in my experience.
