Great team but feeling underappreciated
Sample Registration (Current Employee) –  Des Moines, IAMay 20, 2017
The teams you work with are excellent. No arguments between coworkers or other departments and everyone mostly understands the different situations that prevent you from performing the next task right away. People tend to help you out if they can or if they want to, even others from other departments. The cons for this position is that there is little consideration for the hard work or the late hours put in to make sure the job gets done the same day or before the next day starts. There is no appreciation or bonuses for those who deserve the bonuses for putting in long hours every week when others leave when their shift ends instead of staying to finish their jobs. So even though you may stick around to help finish not only your job but your coworkers, there is nothing to show appreciation for you completing your tasks, your coworkers tasks, and other tasks that must be maintained but no one else wants to complete.
Pros
Great people to work with
Cons
Not paid for the hard work put into the job, no consideration of bonuses for those who put in extra work to make sure goals are met every day

Growing Company with staffing issues
Laboratory Analyst (Former Employee) –  St. Louis, MOApril 4, 2017
Overall a wonderful place to work. Each day begins with checking master schedule and starting assay work as soon as possible. Learned many steps to the assay production process and evaluation of human serums that are the primary test substance. Management is composed of understanding people, but load of workers per manager prevents one on one time when learning evaluation standards and final report criteria. Open conversation is encouraged between co-workers and upper management to ensure an efficient working environment. The hardest part of this job will be time management, having to run 1-3 of the same assay in sequence, while keeping track of fellow workers as there are limited number of laboratory machines to process final data. The most enjoyable part of this job is the high work volume and the great potential for overtime.
Pros
Little Direct Supervision, with wonderful pay.
Cons
Limited Laboratory instruments, No direct samples of final report criteria.

Certified Grain Inspector (Current Employee) –  Wichita, KSFebruary 1, 2017
Working for Eurofins is certainly an adventure. One would expect it to be the same everyday but it isn't. Some days it is busy, other days there is hardly anything to do. One has to be willing to think outside the box to busy themselves on slow days. It teaches one to be responsible for their actions, thorough in their duties, attentive to other things that could be done and patient. I say patient because This company does not excel in communication, which makes it difficult to understand responsibilities and updates on protocol. Though, there are good benefits in this job which makes it worth enduring the lack of communication. The supervisor and co-workers are amazing and the work environment is dynamic, fun and unforgettable. There is never a dull moment in this place.
Pros

Cons
lack of communication, no advancement and low pay rate

chemist (Former Employee) –  Portage, MIJanuary 24, 2017
Could be a grest company if management worked with employees. Your assigned career role doesn't really matter, you end up doing everyone elses job just so you can get your own job completed. Coworkers were great but was one of the most stressful, disorganized places i have worked. Only worried about company profit. Seems like even the simplest tasks are overly complicated.

Run, do not walk away from this company
Sample Registration Technician (Former Employee) –  Lancaster, PANovember 2, 2016
I worked for the Food Microbiology lab for over a year. I was promised a raise after 90 days and never received it. Later, I found out that no one has received any raises since they started. I wish that I could say that was the only negative about this place. They are understaffed, overworked, and underpaid. Morale is terrible, and nothing is done to help. 90% of the department has interviews elsewhere, they are just biding their time to get out of there. Employees are required to work overtime every single day until all work is finished. This would be fine, if they weren't understaffed, but it makes for extremely long days, no home life, and if you do leave on time one time you are written up even if you stay every other day. Management is terrible. There are so many issues with this place that they are too long to list. I have worked for 27 years and have never worked for a place so bad.
Pros
Benefits are okay
Cons
Almost everything

Run far away from this company
Research Scientist (Former Employee) –  Mebane, NCOctober 27, 2016
Management are inept at effective supervisory management, leadership and coaching. Good scientists, but very poor managers. As a result, you will be put into a "sink or swim" environment. During peak seasons, be prepared to work like a slave, as the critical mass of human resources is totally inadequate to meet the workload demand. Work outcomes/deliverables end up being substandard. Reputation among clients in the industry is poor. Pay and benefits are below average. Physical facilities are poor.
Pros
good co-workers (the entry-level ones)
Cons
poor management, inadequate critical mass, no work/life balance, poor industry reputation, poor pay/benefits, poor facilities

Lab Technician (Former Employee) –  Des Moines, IAJuly 21, 2016
Absolutely utterly terrible. Production going for quantity over quality work. terrible hours and worse mundane working conditions. More concerned about finishing as many samples as possible instead of accurate and reproducible results.

Good People but overwhelming work
Support Technician (Former Employee) –  Folsom, CANovember 16, 2015
The management staff is an excellent staff. They will always be there for you and help you with anything. The work is continuous and sometimes overwhelming which allows you no breaks and late lunches. I think if there were more employees in support services that would not have been a problem. Overall the company is a good company to work for.
Pros

Cons
No breaks and overwhelming work
