Wax Specialist (Current Employee) – Huntington Beach, CA – June 10, 2014
Great co-workers. Not long hours, on feet all day though which makes it tiresome on your body. Really uses time management because most services are done in 15 min and you are constantly trying to up sell even more services in allotted time. Great opportunity for sales driven individuals because that and tips are where you will be making your money. Management is always energetic and motivating because the business is based on numbers and how they in turn will make money.
Happy environment, great for sales people
No real room for growth, commission for services is only 5% so $2.50 for a $50 Brazilian.
Guest Service Associate (Current Employee) – Pleasant Hill, CA – June 27, 2017
Management is very supportive for all employees. I learn every day how to handle different situations and how to adjust my work style based on individual guests in the center. Work is fast paced but very tedious. Being a Guest Service Associate means I am running the flow of the center at all times. It may get stressful at times, but in the end it all works out.

EWC is a fun place to work, however sometimes responsibility outweighs compensation. GSA's are sometimes asked to do things that of a manager with the pay of minimum wage. Work also follows you home and makes you feel as though you are always on call. I love the culture, I just don't like the little pay. Even though there is a commission incentive, it isn't enticing enough to stick around long term.
Lead GSA (Current Employee) – Charlotte, NC – June 23, 2017
Overall growing company, that has minor nicks, nothing that cant be changed and im sure will change rapidly with the new management coming in. flexible schedules, and co workers typically are like family.
understanding management, flexible with hours
no breaks, little pay but oppurtunity for commision
GUEST SERVICE ASSOCIATE (Former Employee) – Brea, CA – June 22, 2017
there was a lot of turn over within management and front desk agent, they pushed you way too hard to sale but you do get half off on waxing and the environment is fun when your not getting sales and packages pushed down you throat.
WAX SPECIALIST (Current Employee) – New York, NY – June 20, 2017
I've mastered the art of waxing which is fun. I mostly look forward to meeting new people and to see my regulars which are awesome. The day to day traffic varies. Some days are so busy that you barely have time to use the rest room, some days are so slow that you barely see any guests. I feel that management doesn't really care about you, they only care about the bottom line. The salary and commission isn't great so you mostly depend on tips to make money. It's great to meet experience but as a long term career? No. There aren't any benefits, 401k, chances for raises or promotions. Unless you're working an 8 hour shift you're not scheduled for breaks so you have to eat before you get there just in case you're busy
Guest Service Representative (Current Employee) – New York, NY – June 19, 2017
I was able to learn a lot about myself in skin through EWC, I would recommend anyone who is trying to get into the beauty industry to try them out as a first job. Although there are many things they do not provide their products and wax make up for it.
Free waxing, Good skin care knowledge and overall a great company to work for.
Short breaks, No healthcare, No paid vacations nor sick days.
Guest service associate (Former Employee) – Pearland, TX – June 14, 2017
Days started and ended great, management as amazing, It was like working with your family, Culture was great. The hardest part of my job, I cannot honestly think of anything, maybe working a 7:30 am shift on a Saturday! The best part of my job was interacting with clients and giving them the best customer service possible! I really enjoyed working for EWC!
working with great people!
healthcare, and when it was slow because we get paid commission

Guest Service/Sales Associate (Former Employee) – Coconut Creek, FL – June 13, 2017
My experience working there wasn't that great because it was under horrible management but now there is a new manager so it might be better. If you enjoy sales positions and really study the things you learn in training you'll be fine. Not a hard job, can get slow at times and can also get extremely busy. You have to work well under pressure and move quickly and efficiently. It is very easy to mess something up on the computer when it is busy. But the busier it is the more opportunity you have to make more money through sales.
Guest Service Associate (Current Employee) – Austin, TX – June 8, 2017
Amazing place to work, I absolutely love my manager and was given so much one-on-one training in customer service and multitask management. Very beneficial to be around so many strong women daily. The dedication to customer satisfaction is something I thoroughly respect for this location. The hardest part of this job is the fact that there is no opportunity for growth within the company. I gained lots of face-to-face sales experience as well. I also felt it was very amazing how I could connect so much to the customer base- women who want to be truly beautiful, and being able to provide that satisfaction is a feeling like no other. It is amazing how much you can do for someone in 15 minutes, I am very satisfied in my experience with EWC.
