Fun place to work
Event Staff (Former Employee), San Diego, CAJune 19, 2013
Pros: free food, sporting events
Cons: no breaks
A typical day was setting up, quality assurance and putting everything back in it's proper place.
I learned to hustle and get it right the first time.
My management was awesome.
My co workers were awesome.
The hardest part about the job was the constant moving with no breaks for 9+ hours

Easy going workplace with flexible hours for a working student.
Staff member (Current Employee), Clinton, IAMay 2, 2012
Being employed as a staff member on the Event Management consisted of alot of interaction with students from my university and their parents. We were required to work at every sports event held within the university throughout the school year. There were different positions available, for example you could work the concessions stands, be the announcer, – more... or control the clock and the scoring. This job overall was not stressful at all, and the most enjoyable part of the job was that we became a part of the school in not only the academic aspect, but also through the extracurricular activities. – less

First Learnings in Abudhabi away from Home
Matrix Valet Parking & Security - Office Manager (Current Employee), Abu Dhabi, AZAugust 20, 2014
One Incident was when a customer came in told me that I am going to Sue your company to court and take away the license. For the first time I came across a person who was really rude and insisting to be a Emirati. I learned how strong to be a Citizen of the country. I used influencing strengths and solved the problem.

I have learned time management.

Management – more... is good.

Very supportive Co-workers, feels like I am one among them.

Nothing is hardest when you love your job.

public dealing made it easier.
operational manager (Former Employee), Islamabad, E11July 7, 2014
Pros: public dealing made job non-boring
Cons: unscheduled work hours
same job same routine daily, however, meeting different sorts of people with different expending points gave opportunity to balance the dealings with the customers. tried to learn body language, price quotation (comparing market), decisions to take on table talk for multiple demands was challenging part which gives huge boost in stepping up as manager, – more... learned how to handle co-workers and staff dealing. the conflict management between customer and staff is hardest part, but best policy would be diplomacy wrapped in honesty.

best enjoyable moment of EVERY job is when you get bonus with the salary. as a feel of reward and creating will to work harder. – less

Pros: refreshment should be delivered free of cost once
Cons: 8 hrs.
I always love work balancing with work/life. I hv learnt from my past not to believe anybody blindly and don't share everything to everybody. Management should be strong and prompt no ditching in the word and in the work. The hardest part of my job to work at night. IPL I enjoyed the most...but toughest as well.

As this is an event management company the working day varies as I can be at different places each day. I have learned to adapt easily to different situations and also to different people. I need to work a lot on my own initiative. I get along very well with my co workers and management and have an excellent reputation with our clients.
I love the satisfaction – more... that an event went well and everyone involved enjoyed it too. I also enjoy that my knowledge of food and wines is improving as I further my career – less

Always a new challenge to deal with, great fun working with friends, every day was different, satisfaction guaranteed.Sometimes the weather was a pain but we got on with it .The wages were not always up to much but that was overcome by how much fun we had.Building a field full of entertainment , watching it grow from an empty field to a rocking,happening – more... field of fun. Then after the main event days were over, taking it all down and leaving a clean empty field. – less

productive and fun workplace where growth is available from within or through experience
Event Manager (Current Employee), VariousJanuary 14, 2014
Pros: available growth
Cons: long hours, no breaks
A company where I can utilize my skills, experience, and education to benefit the company and myself furthering my knowledge. With over 5 years of customer related experience, and 3 years of management, at age 23 I hope to attain my Bachelor of Commerce degree by age 25 - 26 while maintaining a full time job. Event management came along after 6 years – more... of Bartending, 3 of which were bar management experience. It's different, outgoing, exciting and definitely a place for social lights. I have worked various concerts, music festivals, and events. Two of my greatest achievements were BOOTS AND HEARTS, a Country Music Festival, and a JAY-Z Concert in Toronto, Ontario. – less

Great, challenging work place with lots of opportunity for creativity.
Marriott International, Marble Arch (Former Employee), London, ENGSeptember 16, 2013
Pros: paid internship that enabled me to gain great working experience.
Cons: tight budget
Paid internship by the University of Minnesota Morris. Tasks included assisting in the creation, marketing, and organization of special events offered to the students of UMM.
Conducting the planned events and coordinating the assisting staff.
Assessing the success of the events, and determining possible changes or specifics that worked well to apply – more... them to future events. Also, this internship gave me the opportunity to transfer the in class lessons from Planning and Programming, Leadership in Organizations, Organizational Behavior, Sport Industry Analysis, and Sport Governance from cognitive knowledge to working knowledge. This internship came along with the opportunity for creativity in designing my own events, and the responsibility to keep within a budget. The events were centered around the mission of the intramural department of giving opportunity for students to live an active and healthy lifestyle. – less

Hard work but great fun
Promoter/Caterer/PR (Current Employee), Brighton, ENGJune 15, 2013
Pros: worked with fun industries, e.g music and food
Cons: long hours
I was self employed in this role and enjoyed the flexibility of it. Long hours and a lot of time was spent following up leads, requiring myself to be highly organised and have good communication skills. Patience was key and my days would vary dependent on at which stage in the organisation I was. Some jobs I would organise entertainment others the full – more... event, from catering to the venue and guest lists. – less

An ideal day at work starts off at 8am and ends at 8pm with 2 30minutes break. It was lovely to learn how to manage people and be part of a succesful event. The most enjoyablepart of the job involved the success stories and what we helped achieve indivudually and collectively whereas the hardestpart of the job is when you areposted to somewhere you – more... cant really interactwith anyone. – less
