A sad-state Educational Institution
Account Development Representative (Former Employee), Eagan, MN –
Pros: decent pay and good benefits
Cons: no advancement opportunities, moronic management staff
Typical "for-profit" institution that institutes goals on student placement and retention in their programs and fires you for failing to achieve them. Decent pay for the work load, but employees are very high schoolish in their cliques.

Co- workers are the best!
Financial Aid Advisor (Former Employee), Pittsburgh, PA –
Pros: up beat co-workers, decent pay
Cons: short breaks, over bearing management, several presidents, finance office has high turn over, poor to moderate follow through, medical benefit rates high and rising.
Employees in the finance department are upbeat, funny and a joy to work with.

Management encourages "Walk the Talk" but with poor to moderate follow through.

Admissions reps are nice but they pretty much run the place, as with any other for-profit school, and get ALL the credit.

GREAT TEAM
Director of First Impressions (Former Employee), Eagan, MN –
Pros: great co workers
Cons: management is not supportive.
I LOVE Everest! Your co workers are the best part of this job. I didnt have college education but the position i had opened so many more doors for me. I learned a lot when working with Everest. If you are a people person, then you need to become part of the team. Management was the only down side to this company. They didnt pay attention to the needs – more...  that were being addressed to make the job better. They asked for your opinion but i personal dont feel like it was valued. They were to much worried about the Admission Department goal than anything which made for a stressful envoriment sometimes. – less

Rewarding job
Admissions Representative (Current Employee), South Plainfield, NJ –
Pros: good pay; good corporate leadership
Cons: healthcare; late hours
Everest Institute is rewarding because it allows me to change a students life for the better. Many students come in with little to no education and are looking to start a new. Everest Institute gives these students a chance by providing them with the necessary tools needed to succeed inside of their community and outside in the real world.

Worst company ever!
Career Services Representative (Former Employee), Chelsea, MA –
Pros: customers are inspiring
Cons: corporation treats employees like trash
Overall, they suck!

Management is often unqualified. My first Director only had a high school diploma and her role required at least a Bachelor's degree. My second Director lied about her previous job title to land the current role and engaged in character assassination that prevented me from getting another job for months until it was brought to my – more...  attention and I reported her to her HR.

The compensation is poor. Everything is automated and when you check your pay from a month ago or a more, you'll notice a discrepancy between what your paycheck says you made and what the company claims you made and they are part of Corinthian Colleges so a few pennies here and there really add up.

The culture is lamentably lacking. The employees are pitted against each other and used to fire each other. Employees are encouraged to provide as little assistance to customers as possible. The employees have little respect for the customers. Everest Institute seriously lacks values.

Job Security - I learned quickly to keep a diary of all incidents at Everest because employees were targeted for abuse, bullying and unwarranted firings. There is no opportunity for advancement.

Work/Life Balance - very poor. It is a salaried position based on a 40 hour work week. Working over time during the week plus on Saturdays was par for the course and not at all as discussed during the interview process. My personal life suffered from the stress of workplace abuse - lots of sleepless nights, lots of tears shed, lots of internalizing and lashing out at home.

There is a reason they are always hiring: that company is a revolving door and an abusive work environment. I received commendations for Regional Managers, but locally, the office ran more like a bad soap opera. – less

Alot of pressure but could be a fun place to work within a team environment with the right leadership
Admissions Representative (Former Employee), Massachusetts –
Pros: team incentives, trips etc. massage therapy course on site, free massages at times.
Cons: pressure, hours, rejection, on the phone a lot
The commute and pressure about goals being met are a little much, But with the right attitude and motivation and teamwork this could be a very fun and rewarding position if your willing to put in the hours to be successful.
