AAMSE is pleased to announce that it has received a grant in the amount of $230,000 to fund the AAMSE Medical Education Leadership Forum.
AAMSE President Kenneth M. Slaw, PhD, characterized the grant provided by Pfizer Medical Education Group as "a significant opportunity to envision and build a portal to the future of one of the essential core – more... elements of our profession, continuing medical education."
"We are grateful to the Pfizer Medical Education Group for its generous assistance in making the launch of this important initiative possible as we strive to fully fund its work," said Slaw. "Establishing this Forum manifests our strategic commitment to assisting medical society executives and many other key stakeholders to raise the bar on quality and innovation in the development and delivery of continuing medical education."
The goals of the Forum are to educate medical society leaders on the current CME environment, identify and fill knowledge gaps, build competencies, refine protocols and best practices, and stimulate innovation that will foster quality CME program development and service delivery models at the national and state medical society and association levels.
In addition, the Forum will, as part of its mission, initiate and encourage dialogue and collaboration among medical society leadership, CME thought leaders and funders in order to enhance CME quality, delivery and outcomes.
"We believe AAMSE's extensive network of medical society executives, physician leaders and experts in various fields relevant to continuing medical education will contribute to and benefit from the work of the Forum," said Slaw. "AAMSE is uniquely positioned to advance the ongoing development and continuous improvement of CME. We will reach out to all AAMSE members and relevant stakeholders in this arena to ensure the initiative benefits from their expertise, and we will concentrate on areas where we can truly make a difference in the education of our physician members, and ultimately in the quality of care they provide their patients." – less – More from ZoomInfo »
