It's a great company to work for in Originations, however BE AWARE of the HORRENDOUS management!! Out of the 6 managers there are 3 capable ones that are dedicated to your grow the others bring their personal problems into the office, have no people skills, and are unprofessional. This company offers great opportunities for advancement, the company workers are amazing, and aside from management it's a fantastic place to work.
Pros
Free lunches, good bonuses, co workers, opportunity for growth, pay
Cons
Most of the management team

Great Employees.
Late Stage Collections/Customer Service (Current Employee) –  Clearfield, UTAugust 10, 2016
Exeter Finance is a great company with a lot of room for advancement, the reason for my 2 star rating for Job Security/Advancement is based upon Exeter Finance Corporations bonus structure, because of it's highly competitive nature it is very hard to keep a position because while your skills are improving so are other peoples and the bonus structure is based on 100% of employees where the top 70% can bonus but because of Company Policy you may not be in the bottom 30% of the company for a period exceeding 2 consecutive months.
Pros
Hour Lunch, Good benifits and pay
Cons
Bonus Structure, Job Security

Lien Perfections Administrator (Current Employee) –  Irving, TXSeptember 3, 2016
Exeter is a new company (about 10 years old) with lots of potential. Management treats employees with respect and there's a general environment of team work and accomplishment. Compensation is fairly competitive with opportunity on benefits.
Pros
Existing employees are given priority on new openings before bringing in people from the outside.
Cons
Less than competitive benefits.

They are very confused
Buyer (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXOctober 20, 2016
They hire and fire groups at a time with no warning. They seem to let good people go and keep "puppets". There attitude is they can treat you bad, make empty promises and change schedules with no reguard to your personal life and if you question them, the standard answer is " if you dont like it, someone else will". They dont respect there employees.
Pros
None
Cons
They dont pay what your worth. 20 cent raises a yr.

This is a wonderful place to work for individuals looking to enter the finance industry. They offer a lot of mentoring from their management and provide ongoing training to assist their employees. The culture is fast paced but fun.
Pros
Constant training
Cons
Base pay for experienced individuals is very low

Would be ok if supervisors and higher ups would be up front, truthful, and consistent about available schedules. Sometimes they will switch you to another department (even if you don't want to) and only give you a few days to adhere to the new schedule. They don't take into consideration if you have young children. They aren't very truthful when it comes to the amount of money you can make with your bonus. You can only go to the bathroom during your 15 minute breaks (male or female)
Pros
Decent Pay
Cons
breaks, healthcare, bonus pay

High turnover. It's unsettling. Get everything in writing! Policies change weekly and they fire people at the drop of a hat. Be very careful.
Pros
The dealers!
Cons
Lacking some great management

the company did have ways to show their appreciation to their employees, like the break room ping pong table. The hardest part of the job was knowing if your job was secure.

Assistant Area General Manager (Current Employee) –  Indianapolis, INJanuary 19, 2015
Exeter Finance is very forthcoming with what they expect from you as an employee - clear communication/goals/expectations.
Small office, co-workers very easy to work with. A typical work day is working through a queue underwriting indirect auto contracts and negotiating terms with finance managers, managing credit buyers, and overseeing the funding process. Upper management is very accessible. What I enjoy most about the job is my relationships with my independent and franchise dealerships.
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Volatile and competitive industry

High hopes for the job that the company fell short on delivering.
Assistant Area General Manager (Former Employee) –  Wayzata, MNMay 13, 2015
The compensation and benefits package was very good and that drew me in to the company. The company did not properly train employees, at the location I was at, and this resulted in employees not fulling understanding their job roles and struggling to complete tasks essential for their job performance. The Area General Manager micro managed the managed the staff and played favorites among the employees. The Area General Manager did not use opportunities to coach and strengthen the team but when someone made a mistake they would ridicule and humiliate them, both privately and publicly. This office has since closed because they consolidated all branch offices into two centers. I think Exeter Finance has a solid base foundation but this Area General Manager was lacking the management and personal skills to effectively lead a team. Exeter could be a fine company to work for due to the compensation and benefits package but it all depends on who you have for a manager.
Pros
Good Pay and Benefits
Cons
Long hours, mirco managed from the General Manager, lack of training
