First round of interviews went well with all 3 team members. I had an open dialog with the Sr. Director (hiring manager) and 2 subordinate team members.

Unfortunately, too much overhead still exists in the hiring process as a whole. My interview cycle took 10 weeks to receive an offer. The average time hiring 5 replacement employees for my team was 10-12 weeks.

HR and management bureaucracy unnecessarily drags out the process to exceed candidate interviews to 'show we interviewed a wide group of internal/external people', even when the ideal internal candidate has already been identified.
