Fun workplace. Bad higher management
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) – Manchester, CT – March 9, 2016
The most enjoyable part about my job? What can I say? I'll miss my customers. I grew a personal relationship with each person who stepped through the door. People came in just looking for a c.d or movie, and left with so much more, I don't mean just more items. I mean they left happy, smiling, laughing, satisfied and I made sure they all had an amazing experience. The associates, who I grew so close with. Just working in such a fun environment. It was all so great. My co-workers/associates. (This is just for the store I worked with). Definitely the best team I've ever worked with and I will miss them so much. My store manager had a bit of a temper, but he was a great guy and made sure his store was running properly. More than what I can say about upper management. The senior manager was phenomenal. The associates were very eager and driven to succeed and make sure customers entered and left satisfied.
The hardest part about this job, was just dealing with upper management. The guys in suits that came from Albany to just really slash us for doing what we thought we were supposed to do or thought was a good move for the store. Now, biggest problem was higher management. Without using names, there was just a lot of trash talk, a lot of inside politics, selfish moves, and just overall a bad upper management who don't treat their employees with respect and it just seems like they don't care about their employees. As far as store managers, and senior managers, we all link up and get along. I didn't learn much here. I had previous managerial experience, I worked retail before
Great environment, fun job, great customers, amazing merchandise
TERRIBLE UPPER MANAGEMENT!
