Summary:
Fagron is seeking an Operations Manager to drive continuous improvement and optimize all processes. The Operations Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and distribution to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The successful candidate will have the key skills to develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality
and productivity.

Reports to:
COO and CFO of Fagron North America

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility
  • Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring trends and areas of improvement
  • Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Review production schedules for all manufacturing departments to ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible
  • Coordinate the hiring and training of all manufacturing personnel
  • Monitor operation expenses and strive to reduce costs while maintaining product quality
  • Work closely with key personnel to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace for our employees
  • Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program
  • Develop and execute the operations budget
  • Analyze workforce requirements
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees
  • Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment
  • Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals
  • Remove waste and constrains from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity
  • Communicate with R&D as well as product management personnel to develop new product strategies
  • Work with Purchasing Manager to develop and improve supplier relationships
  • Responsible for the overall maintenance of the facility and security systems
  • Stay up to date with the latest operations management best practices and concepts

Education level:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Operations/Logistics/Distribution Management or other related field
Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree, Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt certification

Profile/Experiences:

  • 7+ year’s progressive experience in a key management role at a manufacturing/distribution facility
  • Previous experience operating under FDA cGMP
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or Access) to analyze data trends
  • Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement
  • Proven knowledge of business and management principles
  • Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, teambuilding and advanced coaching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associates with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability
  • A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment
  • Highly motivated, results oriented, driven
