A growing landscape company is seeking a motivated, self- starter who is enthusiastic about joining the team and helping the company grow. As a bookkeeper you will directly report to the president of FH& G. A qualifying candidate must possess strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and have a strong attention to details and deadlines. The primary function of this job will require accurate banking and accounting/bookkeeping services.

Responsibilities:

  • Monthly bank reconciliations of multiple accounts
  • Maintain accounting journals and ledgers of financial entries and transactions such as disbursements, expense vouchers, and receipts.
  • Enter and track accounts payable weekly invoices
  • Payroll
  • Reconcile records with internal company employees and management/ external vendors or customers
  • Purchasing office supplies & monitoring cash flow
  • Prepare & review work orders
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management/staff as required
  • Log construction equipment mileage
  • Quarterly and yearly tax returns
  • Accounts receivable; create and process invoices in QuickBooks
  • Scan invoices and job work orders into paperless system and code for file reference or file invoices and job work orders
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
  • Investigate questionable data
  • General mail responsibilities

Qualifications:
**Knowledge of QuickBooks is mandatory; please do not apply if you do not have experience with this software

  • Advanced computer skills
  • Preferred 2+ years in administrative/accounting experience in the construction field
  • Experience working in the construction industry & understanding of construction terminology
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Preferred Associates degree in accounting or business
  • Proficient in QuickBooks & Microsoft office suite ( specifically excel and word)
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Highly organized and efficient
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Aptitude to work in a small fast paced work environment
  • Ability to learn new technology
  • Preference will be given to candidates with construction industry accounting experience
