Loved the staff that I worked with. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to know the patients on a personal level and watching their families grow. The hardest part was seeing a patient lose a baby that they had desperately hoped for.

When employed at this facility I was working as a technologist. Our days were usually busy but manageable. There were issues within the department with cohesiveness. I was there to work so I really did not get involved. The hardest part was the everyday feeling that not everyone was held to the same principle as far as doing the work but again my favorite part was providing comfort with great patient care.

Easy job but I knew very quickly after I completed my CFY, I would need to move on to a place I could learn more. No benefits offered at all but higher pay. Patient care was scary to me-as I saw a lot of poor care across all disciplines. Easy job in the sense that I could do anything (including stay at home) as long as I kept a pager with me.
Possibly a fine/great place for some one experienced but this was my first job and even my CFY supervisor said she would not recommend this place for a CFY (but only after I was hired). She was great but she was correct. Many years ago, so possibly a much better place now?
Slow easy pace, good pay.

Phlebotomist (Current Employee) – Fairmont, WV – August 19, 2015
FMRC is a wonderful small hospital and I love my work with the patients. A typical day starts at 5AM with in-house draws and starting at 7AM we open for out-patients. There is 1 full-time Phlebotomist and 1 casual Phlebotomist. I have learned a lot about the different test that are drawn on a routine basis. I have awesome coworkers. The hardest part of this job is training Lab Tech students to draw blood when they have no skills or interest in drawing blood. Reassuring our patients that we will not let the student hurt them. The most enjoyable part of my job is working with my patients. I love patient contact and also love drawing blood. Being able to reassure patients that are hard sticks that I have the skills needed to draw their blood with ease.

Lab is using Lab Techs instead of Phlebotomists on a daily basis to do draws, therefore there is no chance for advancement.

My typical work day would start early and end in the mid afternoon.There was never a dull moment at the hospital.My co-workers would always lend a hand when needed and I would do the same . I learned that there is no I in team.If everyone works together the job will get done.
The hardest part of the the job was there was alot of working involved and that I am no longer working there,I loved it there and wish that I could go back.
The most enjoyable part of the job was knowing that I may an impact on my co workers and that at the end of the day I did a great job.

Working face to face wtih patients was very rewarding to me. I also enjoyed working as switchboard operator when needed. I verified insurance, collected copays, registered patients for ER and outpaitent. Coworkers were grest

I would not recommend this organization to any professional looking to further their career. FGH is financially unstable. However, that is not the biggest problem, that would be management. They are so horrible, condoning gossiping, bullying and even partaking in employee harassment. There is nothing below them, whatever they have to do to keep their job. The environment is so cut throat because of the situation they have put themselves in with their spotty, less than stellar administrative decisions. The only way this hospital will succeed is if someone buys them out and cleans house, starting at the top.

I never didn't want to go to work. I enjoyed my time with this company. Everyday was fun and different. Management was great and my co-workers were as well. Great team environment. The hardest part of the job was cleaning up after others but the most enjoyable part was the people.
Not a good place to work. The hospital is poorly ran with poor management all around. Job security is little to none as their have been numerious layoffs recently. Work-life balance is terrible. Hospital is so understaffed you will be bothered at home frequently.
