The Christian Education Director works with FaithSpring families to provide age-appropriate programs, education and activities for the children and youth of the church, as well as, the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement the vision for the FaithSpring children and youth ministry programs. Provide strategic leadership and planning initiatives for the programs.
Develop and implement programs to foster spiritual growth, connect families, outreach to the community and build relationships to get the children and youth excited about knowing, loving and serving Jesus Christ.
Identify, select and implement curriculum for the children and youth ministry programs.
Recruit, train, lead, and support volunteer leadership.
Develop processes necessary for effective children and youth ministries operations (e.g.: check-in process).
Develop communication plans to keep other staff members, volunteers and parents informed.
Meet deadlines, as requested, for publications (electronic and other).
Optimize program effectiveness through social media, electronic communications, and other appropriate communication methods.
Develop and implement all safety and security processes for children and youth ministries.
Work with website coordinator to advertise children’s ministry events on the FaithSpring website and Facebook.
Participate in weekly staff meetings.
Perform other job related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Formal education or equivalent training in Christian, early childhood, or elementary education.
Minimum of two to four years of similar experience, preferably working with children in a religious setting.
Strong leader who works well with parents, volunteers, church staff and children.
Passionate, creative and energetic.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to relate to a wide variety of personalities and styles, while maintaining a positive attitude.
Ability to enjoy and relate to children ages 0 – 18.
Good volunteer recruiting skills.
Computer proficiency and ability to work effectively in many environments.
Certified in first aid and CPR or willing to obtain certifications.
Must pass a criminal background check.
Schedule will be flexible, but Sunday and religious holidays will be required.
