In agriculture, and farming, a usual day starts at 5:30 AM, and ends at 9 - 9:30 PM. I used to take care of a dairy farm (about 60 cows) and lead a team of workers to gather crops on field. My daily task involved labor, team leading and driving. I was able to use my engineering skills to build and repair agricultural machinery, and agricultural structures, – more... and during the free time I used to help my dad to restore and modify old army cars, which we were using in the farm. By using my help, we increased our profit by more than 100%, allowing us to acquire more land and machinery and as a result we use less labor. At the beginning we were using about 9 - 10 laborers, and now, we are using just 3 laborers. – less
Assistant/Employee (Former Employee), Handy man jobs – July 10, 2014
I just love working with my father. Learned so many great things & made a good bond. Always constantly moving back & forth grabbing stuff & organizing. The hardest part was when the clients over watched us. Kind of difficult to focus on the job. Peer pressure.
A great enivorment to work and was very productive

Bakery Manager (Former Employee), Kabul, KAB – December 13, 2013
Pros: being respected by the customers
Cons: some days due to work load missing school
It was owned by my older brother first then I toke the overall responsibility of the bakery when I was about 13 years of age. Our customers were very satisfied from the services we provided them. They would cook food at home and bring them to us for lunch and dinner. The work was a little hard. It was 8 hours of standing in front of a wooden oven even – more... in hot summer without any cooling system. I went to School in the afternoons. The best part about working there was that I helped and supported my family financially and the worst part was waking up at 3-4 in morning and going to work. It is not easy when you are just a kid. – less
