love your job and you will always find the positive
Security Guard (Current Employee) – Huntington, NY – June 20, 2017
I love protecting and serving the individuals that I'm in charge of and whoever is in charge of me. IT has taught me never view yourself higher than who your put to serve. I've seen almost every walks of life and I have learned to embrace their diversity and situational differences.
Program Coordinator (Current Employee) – Bay Shore, NY – May 9, 2017
FSL is a good agency some programs are very stressful. ACM due to Medicaid repayments rates has become very stressful with very high caseloads. PTO amount is nice and early Fridays from memorial day weekend to labor day weekend is great.
Administrative Assistant/Receptionist (Current Employee) – Huntington, NY – January 30, 2017

Front Desk Secretary/Receptionist (Former Employee) – Huntington, NY – December 21, 2016
I had a very wonderful and positive experience. The staff and management were very supportive of each other. I would recommend anyone to apply for a position with this agency. Very good benefits and training provided.
very flexible with hours and days off when needed, lunch provided at times
Student (Former Employee) – Montclair, NJ – October 3, 2016
Over the course of four months I participated under supervised individual and group counseling sessions for case studies such as Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Violence, Loss, Eating disorders, Substance abuse and Parent/ Child conflicts. This internship equips all individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to work directly or indirectly with survivors and their loved ones.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Former Employee) – various – July 3, 2016
FSL fosters a culture of mediocrity. There is absolutely no interest in providing good quality psychiatric care to our most vulnerable populations. The psychologists/therapists are by far the most unprofessional, undertrained, and unintelligent colleagues I have ever worked with. Their inability to make an informed assessment, and provide appropriate psychiatric medication and psychotherapy bordered on malpractice. The administration consists of truly vile bureaucrats who have no feeling at all for the tremendous responsibility it is to care for these very ill, desperate people. The department of mental health has failed appallingly to monitor the quality of the care being delivered. Please make sure you have a contract that explicitly states how many patients, of what complexity, you are expected to see a day, what kind of admin/secretarial /medical record support you can expect, what kind of interdisciplinary communication occurs, etc.You may want to keep copies of your medical records, as they have been k own to be mysteriously altered or dissapear. Work somewhere else, and for goodness sake, find somewhere else to get treatment!
Clinical Social Worker, part-time fee for service (Current Employee) – Central Islip, NY – April 30, 2016
Not respectful of number of years in the field, previous job titles or description, and fee pay is lowest in the field. The agency took over our clinic and treated most of the staff in a very cold and impersonal manner.
Peer/Parent Advocate (Former Employee) – Middle Island, NY – February 14, 2016
Great experience..friendly and supportive atmosphere! I just wished I could have had a chance to work there a little longer. So long ago don't remember the names of the people I worked with, but I remeber it was a pleasant encounter!
