Dependent on the time of year
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Lake Zurich, ILFebruary 13, 2015
This job is very dependent on the time of year or even the day of the week that you are working. At times there will be very few customers, so you have to do different tasks that are repetitive. Near holidays especially however, there will be days where you will not have a second to rest.

Nice place to work at
Temporary Service Clerk (Former Employee), Chicago, ILJanuary 15, 2015
Pros: fun environment
We would transport product in my car, from the stores to the events. Set up the product, put it in the freezers. Selling the product, interacting with customers. At the end of the day, taking the product back to the store and preparing for the next day. I learned great customer service skills, patience and be nice and positive with customers. Management was great, everyone was helpful and pleasant. The hardest part, the heat.

Good when busy
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Lake Zurich, ILNovember 14, 2014
This job is very dependent on the season. Sometimes there will be a constant flow of customers, and sometimes there will be only a couple customers a day. You have to know how to keep busy when there are no customers, and how to handle customers quickly and efficiently when it is very busy while still getting your other work done.

I love Fannie May but, 1800 Flowers isn't the best company to work for.

Never going back to that.
Key Holder (Former Employee), Wheaton, ilMay 13, 2014
A typical day at FM was tedious. Unlock, go in, re-lock, begin to open, start DCR, open, pack boxes, wrap boxes, stock shelves, help picky customers, close, finish DCR, lock up, deposit money. That is a typical day in the shoes of a Key holder. Where I was working I never saw my fellow employees unless it was close to a holiday and I was lucky, otherwise I spent the majority of my time in shop alone. This set up might be grand for some, but it just didn't work for me.

❸ Assistant Manager for two stores (Former Employee), Melrose Park, ILJune 19, 2013
A typical day for me was to make sure the store was stocked and cleaned. Make sure the schedules were done and keep track of weekly sales plan. I also had to keep track of payroll weekly.

I enjoyed working with the public and meeting new people.
Retail Sales Associate (Former Employee), Bloomington, ILMay 13, 2013
Pros: candy samples
Cons: no benefits
Worked mostly evening and weekend PT, had FT job during the day.
Worked mostly by myself.
Didn't think I was properly trained.
The most enjoyable was working with public and meeting, helping
customers.
The hardest was standing so long in one spot, thats why I left job
I had to have foot surgery.

I've learned how to maintain a great relationship with my co-workers and how to better serve customers.
