Fantasy Interactive will always hold a special place in my heart. The company is very knowledgeable in what they do; UX/UI design. Their staff is focused and ambitious. I learned a lot about myself and the design industry on a corporate level.
I started off with this company through my previous temp agency. I was promised this position was a temp to hire. However, I ended up being employed for 8 months and never given a permanent position.
Throughout the 8 months I worked for Fantasy Interactive Inc my experience was enriching. I was given quite a bit of responsibility. I handled everything related to the SF office including oversight of: office furnishings/ interior design, vender relations, travel arrangements for all staff including C-level members, planning events, property management including Fi's offsite corporate apartment My job essentially covered varied administrative functions while interchanging duties as an executive assistant when the CEO was present.
The only downside was my supervisor was offsite. Throughout the duration of my work I never had a person to person interaction with my supervisor; which I believe made it difficult for him to entirely trust my competence. Also, since he was located in NY it made it very difficult to conference call with him. Therefore, a lot of my learning came from trial and error. I can't disregard the fact that through this experience I learned what mistakes I don't want to recreate. It was very humbling and thrilling at the same time. Moreover, Fantasy Interactive taught me a lot about the direction I want move forward with in reference to my career.
