I served as technical expert for processing staffing and recruitment activities, researched and developed job descriptions and evaluations.
Working in the excepted service with time limitations of the Peace Corps was very challenging experience for me, I constantly worked under short deadlines recruiting and providing technical advise and guidance to supervisors and managers on performance management, employee recognition awards program, financial reporting and job classification.
My co-workers were reliable, friendly and we worked well-together on team building projects. They were great communicators and they supported the needs within the HR staff of employees both foreign and domestic on human resources issues.
The hardest part of the job was being assigned to work with the front office staff of high-level officials both civil and foreign service and the senior executive staff explaining hiring plans, position management, employment attrition/anticipated and projected ceilings.
The most enjoyable part of the job was working in Washington, DC and understanding the work of a Peace Corps Volunteer.
