Management and staffing constantly changing.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Virginia Beach, VAJanuary 21, 2017
In the year that I was there staffing was constantly changing and management changed as well. I was left alone at the location so I could never take a lunch break. Didn't get any sick time or leave but other employees were constantly tardy or no shows.

Fast-paced & hectic at times if your sales force is solid.
Always different & lots of return customers.
Repeat co-workers, customers & sub-contractors tend to become valued friends over the years.

No structure or workflow/ Lack of management.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Idaho Falls, IDJanuary 10, 2017
My experience overall was not the best. It started great but ended sour over how my situation was handled. There is a lack in workflow and management and I was the only one being held accountable for any mistake that would occur because of that fact.
Pros
Good hourly pay plus potential for more based on sales/ retirement plan.
Cons
No health benefit package no matter your tenure, no workflow system, lack of management, lack of reliable scheduling for jobs.

I recruited talent to grow the store 22% in 2015. Both the front counter CSR and the Graphic Designer were experienced staff members bringing much to the table.

Loved my title but bad experience with owner
Graphic Designer/Production Artist (Former Employee) –  Cypress, TXSeptember 27, 2016
Loved my job as a Graphic Designer here but the owner was unexperienced in the sign industry, had no idea what was going on. He blamed every employee for everything, micromanaged, treated us like we were in grade school. Not to mention he tried to "redesign" things because he thought he was a designer. Pay was VERY low, no benefits, no ongoing training, yet he expected so much from his employees. Hardest part of the job was being distracted to while designing and having someone looking over my shoulder. Co-workers were awesome, I learned a lot by being there and teaching myself through trial and error. Learned a lot about what NOT to do as a manager as well, and don't open a sign company if you don't LOVE it. Simple. They should make owners go work at a FastSigns before they open one.
Pros
Learned a lot.
Cons
No benefits, didn't believe in breaks, micromanaged, very low pay, eavesdrops on employees, etc.

Good place to work
Visual Communication Designer (Current Employee) –  Miami, FLAugust 11, 2016
Overall it is a good place to work. Laidback atmosphere and owner is very respectful and flexible. Definitely based on compensation not meant to be a long term employment, unless young and living at home.
Pros
Good boss, laidback environment
Cons
Salary is weak

Ungrateful, self- absorbed management
Customer Service Rep (Former Employee) –  Wilmington, DEJune 29, 2016
Loyalty is a one-way street with the management of this company.
They think that because they are paying their employees, that gratitude for a job well done is not necessary. The pay probably is in line with or a little lower than the industry standard for the area, so it's not really worth listening to the idiocy being constantly put forth. They go out of their way to criticize mistakes by employees, preferring to look for minor mistakes rather than successful overall projects.
The good thing is that they respect time off, when needed. A vacation is offered after a period of employment. Bonuses one were a regular thing. Now they are non-existent.
It might be a good place to get your foot in the door of the sign business. Don't expect expert training, however. Don't expect to become a valued employee, either.
Pros
Time off for personal business, vacation
Cons
poorly run, understaffed

It's Okay
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Kissimmee, FLJune 7, 2016
The company can be great but the management team in Kissimmee, F.L. is not the best. They train you with no patience after 2 weeks. The Owners clearly don't know much about sales because they always need to ask their resources to present a great enough answer to their clients which is not a good first impression sign. When you're in a business of sales where you must think quick with good management and communication skills, and there's a big lack of skills coming from this location. They won't admit it but they would discriminate if you do not show the greatest efforts to know the bilingual qualifications that they want you to perform. The management team in the Kissimmee location shows a lot of hypocritical actions by the lack of communication of what work is needed. There is many negative comments to those who try their best to show all the expectations asked of. They make the new hires feel they're not good enough for the customer service representative position after so many attempts of new hires they seem to still not know how to manage their staffing correctly. For another example, a representative could show great skills and trying their best to understand the tools presented during the first half month but then there would be many negative complaints spoken among the staff member that the efforts they've presented is not given credit at the workshop. Don't spend any of your valuable time surrounded by people who wouldn't appreciate your time and efforts when you could more importantly present your skills elsewhere.

Outside Account Executive, Key Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Johnson City, TNJune 1, 2016
The sign industry is fast paced and enjoyable. Able to use creativity and customer service skill to help the clients find the best solution to their problem. The owner of the company would not invest the proper resources to get the job done, which created an unstable environment to work in.
Pros
Weekends off and 7 paid holidays off.
Cons
Resources not available to complete projects on time.

The deadlines are often tough but not impossible and the people are team-oriented.
