Patient load , all about numbers in and numbers out. Case load heavy. Have 6 to 1 ratio, then discharges and admission come in. The end of a 12 hour shift , the nurse has to chart on 6 plus patients , never got out on time 12 plus hours. Would have liked to see 8 hour shifts and charge nurses not to take patients and nurse aides have less patients. More team players.

Working hours are long. The ratio has to be less in order to care for the growing elderly population in Charlotte County. It takes time to assist to BR , walking, taking pills, so many so many pills !! ect...

Making assignment with , not by numbers in mind , but in acuity. Example; hanging a lot of IV bags for one sick patient and I still had 5 others to care for
