Great place to work for the detail oriented
Bank Examiner (Former Employee) –  Denver, COAugust 28, 2017
Great place if you like to go into the weeds for your work. However, you will not be appreciated. Pay is very low compared to other regulatory agencies and they will try to sell you on work/life balance instead of giving you actual money. People are nice, management is hit or miss, I was extremely lucky.
Pros
Great benefits
Cons
Poor pay

Great Benefits
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Kansas City, MOJune 26, 2017
A typical day is just taking inbound and making outbound calls regarding transactions of either wires or book entry securities. The coworkers are great for the most part however this department is under new management which is not always a good thing. They micromanage to the point that you second guess your actions after many years of service. They want to reinvent the wheel and try to make it more efficient but instead they have no compassion or standards on trying to better their employees but rather treat them like they are replaceable or belittle them instead of empowering them.
Pros
benefits, cafeteria on sight
Cons
management micromanages too much

productive and fun workplace
Public Affairs Intern (Former Employee) –  Omaha, NEMay 31, 2017
Able to work independently and with other branches on joint projects. Very comfortable setting with friendly environment. The management created monthly events such as movie day and sweet treats to give workers a chance to bond and converse about things other than work. Busy workload up until the final day of internship.

NET Lead Developer (Former Employee) –  Kansas City, KSMay 25, 2017
Solid place to work, but can be a little tedious at times. There are a lot of antiquated polices in place that can keep developers from being productive.
Pros
Good Work-life Balance
Cons
Lots of red tape

Sr. Customer Support Specialist I (Current Employee) –  Kansas City, KSMarch 22, 2017
This department I worked in, Wholesale Operations, is too rigid and old school. The staff members have alot of tenure and do not like change. Training is non-existent - there is no class room type of training offer for the job,
Pros
Cafeteria, Safe Work Enviorment
Cons
Too many rules, regulations, and policies

Unhappy workplace that is still in the stone ages when it started over 100 years ago. Inexperienced management that don't know how to manage their direct reports.

Nice Place to work
Analyst (Former Employee) –  Kansas City, MOSeptember 13, 2016
The Federal Reserve is a great place to work. You will have to wait your turn in order to get a promotion. Outside of that it is a solid place to work.

Vault Teller/Operating Clerk (Former Employee) –  Kansas City, MOMay 15, 2016
This company is great for beginners out of college who have nothing but work to look forward to. If you are older when you begin working here it is difficult to have good work life balance in some of the departments.

This company does let its employees in some areas to mingle and celebrate certain events.

Vault Teller/Operating Clerk (Former Employee) –  Kansas City, KSApril 6, 2016
I enjoyed working at the Fed it was just to far from my home. I did not like sitting in traffic to and from work. Co-workers were the best, management had some learning to do. I do not like when someone is management and has never done the work.
Pros
benefits such as 401, pension, pay
Cons
long hours
