In my case, the hiring process was very quick and in total, it was about 2 weeks. My case might be unique as it involved a networking call with the area manager and then a one on one meeting a few days later. I was offered a position the next week.

Typically no we dont. Depending on location and volume of work they may ASK if you want to work a half day on Saturday. Its not mandatory.
