Supportive environment with a focus on growth and development of its people.
Pros: supportive environment, locations everywhere, recognition
Cons: we have to be there for our customers, which can mean long hours.
Ferguson is about careers, not jobs. In my experience, they believe in their people and give them the tools they need to take their careers into their own hands. The work is hard, but the payoff is great. I love that Ferguson is a large company that can provide all of the benefits a large company can provide, but at the local level can still feel like a small business. Each location has its own feel and is enmeshed in its own community, but we all focus on the larger common goals of the organization as a whole. I also respect the fact that our CEO started as a Trainee, working in the warehouse and on the counter. Since he has been there, as the majority of our executives have been, it makes me believe he wouldn't ask anything of his associates that he wouldn't do himself. It's a great, healthy company that recognizes and rewards hard work from its people.
