This place is the PITS! They took TARP funds and then sent an email to the entire company saying that they "are considering" what to do with it! CONSIDERING? You were told what to do with it! Greedy, greedy! They also LIE to their customers and send them credit cards without them asking. If they are approved on RAFT, they get a card!! Especially discriminatory against Hispanic and elderly people. They PUSH PUSH PUSH those product sales on these types of people and make fun of them in sales meetings. "the oldies with the walkers". That is what one investment adviser called his clients. How professional. The worst is the people they have in management. Especially that bear woman. If you work there, you know who I mean. She is grossly unprofessional and talks like a man. At this place, you are dazzled by the training process and recruits. They make you feel like you're headed for the big time! It's all lies. They never have the positions for you to move up into. They slash them and redress them with lower titles/pay! Bottom line: IF YOU CAN GET A JOB AT A GOOD, LOCAL COMMUNITY BASED BANK WHO CARES ABOUT PEOPLE, DO IT! Don't get caught up in the greed culture of big corporate machines like Fifth Third. They don't care about their customers, so why should they care about their employees? They work their personal bankers to the bone, sometimes an office only has one PB, and they have to carry 80% of the goals. It is disgusting. The people who work there are LIARS. I was lied to CONSISTENTLY by my FCM who is a pathological liar. WORST PLACE TO WORK! RUN AWAY! They sit around cheering and jeering when customers are overdrafted because it helps their P&L. Disgusting. I feel dirty and cheap for having worked here for nearly 5 years. I should be ashamed of myself. I work at another bank now and it is DIFFERENT out there. Trust me! You can do better. Especially if you are a young woman of color. You can't get anywhere with 5/3

Extremely high sales quotas means bonuses are a myth. Very employee unfriendly. Be prepared to be worked like a dog with little reward or recognition. Stereotypical "corporate environment" they will dispose of you like a used tissue. They are all about sales at any cost and the customer's welfare or their employees is not of their concern.

What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does Fifth Third Bank stack up against the competition?

Many banks are talking about computer qualification/ computer literacy certificate. I'm an Engineering graduate(ECE), & we had to do many works on computer, MS Office, internet etc. Shall I have to produce any separate certificate for my 'computer qualification' , or the 'graduation certificate' will do ?

I have a phone interview next week for a customer service representative position, Now found it's a teller position and part time. Here's my question: is it really worth it to work there part time? I really want a full time position (I have a MBA)but will consider part time if it means promotion. Does a degree really matter? While surfing the web I saw a position called Management training. How come they didn't mention this to me? Is it a good place to work? I was told you are often "on call" when you first start, does this mean they might call you to work on days off? Thanks in advance.

I hae had recently and in the past 6 months very bad experiences with 53 Bank. Their online banking is by far the slowest and will cause you more headaches than you could beleive. It wil tell you your available balance, yes, available balence and then when you use it they will screw you with overage charges. 53 in my opinion has the worst customer service possible. When they don't want o speak to you after you just told the person you want to speak with their supervisor, they hang up. GGGRRREEEAAATTT, real great service. Even if you have to drive just a little further to another bank by all means do yourself a favor and go go go.
