Business Training Coordinator IT Strategy (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CA – May 15, 2014
Pros: charity giving/matching, free flowers after teleflora photo shoots
Cons: culture of fear, disregard for worker's longevity in the workplace
On the surface, this was a good place to work. Good benefits, great charitable contribution matching, but an underlying culture of fear. I learned a great deal at this job, but it was up to me to learn it. In fact, I became the Training Coordinator because there was such a lack of training with Oracle throughout the company. I came in not knowing what Oracle was, and left writing training guides for all of Finance and some of the Manufacturing Modules.
I am grateful for the opportunities I created for myself at the company. I am grateful for all that I learned there, but I am equally grateful I am my own boss at this point.
